Starting my journey!

I was initially devastated and daunted by the prospect of having to lose over 100lbs to reach a healthy BMI weight... After a few calculations I have decided that it is an entirely possible thing for me to do!
With a lot of determination and will power I can do it!

There are 46 weeks until my 23rd birthday. If I lose 2.5lbs a week for the next 46 weeks I will be under 14 stone for my birthday and I should have a completely healthy BMI. I expect that I will be slimmer than I have ever previously been - what could be a better birthday present than that!?
I want to be able to post amazing before and after pictures online and amaze people with my weight loss.

I also came to the conclusion that even though I am completely capable of losing this weight (and I will!) it isn't going to change my personality, it's not going to change the things that make me an individual. For one, I'm still going to be 6ft 3! But I may see this as something to be happy about rather than feeling like an ogre!!

Good luck to everyone else out there who is on a weight loss journey. This forum is so amazingly supportive and I really can't wait to share my journey with all of you!
Thanks to anyone that managed to sit through my essay!
Scarlett x

Good luck!

You know you can do it but please don't give up that first week you don't make your target, it's a marathon - not a sprint (I'm here all week with cliches!).

Subscribing for the journey - I'll bring the healthy snacks!

Thankyou for the luck!
There will definitely be hiccups along the way! Cliches are always welcome hah!

I can't wait to weigh in next week and start chipping away at the unwanted weight!
Thankyou again :)

I had a delicious slimming world breakfast today! A wonderful omelette with bacon (all far removed) and mushrooms :) and then a bowl of fresh strawberries and a Shape 0% yoghurt!!
Yummers!! My wonderful mum cooked me the omelette - as I'm pretty pants at omelette cooking myself :/

I'm feeling positive for the rest of the day, I've got work this evening but will be having spaghetti bolognese for dinner with loads of superfree vegetables when I get home! Looking forward to that :D

I hope everyone else is having a fantastic day and sticking with their journeys. xx

My mum taught me to make an omelette the day before I moved out, I lived off of them for about a year lol.

Haha! I did that with toasted sandwiches for a couple of weeks when I first moved to Uni!
I used the fact that I'm not very good at making omelettes to get her to make one for me... To show me how to make one properly ;)

Haha me too! I just think I always had better things to do than stand in a grotty shared kitchen and cook up anything amazing... :/ but when payday came around, me and my friends would have steak or a roast of some sort. Then back to noodles and toasties!

Supernoodles, toast and alcohol got me through uni. Sometimes the alcohol made it too difficult to manage the noodles & toast. I was at my lightest then too - not a diet I'd rush to recommend though lol!

Mine was cigarettes and iced tea ha! I got down to my lightest at Uni too - I wasn't small in any sense of the word, but I was a lot smaller than I am now!
Definitely not a great lifestyle! But I think everyone goes through a phase in their life where they just can't be arsed to cook elaborate meals!

good luck to you - sounds like you have it all planned :)

well done to you - new job - new you :D have a fun night x

Thanks ladies! I start on Monday :D

I went out last night and had a bit more to drink than I really should have :/ but I'm doing really well today so hopefully I'm back on track!

Mexican beef and tomato stew with peppers and mushrooms for lunch. And then im singing with my band at a pub gig tonight! So all I'm drinking is water!!

I had my first week weigh in tonight - and to be honest I was absolutely dreading it! I haven't had a good week overall to be honest.
I had 2 gigs this week which meant that I was out until nearly 2am two nights in a row, so on both days I ended up not having dinner and having two packets of quavers when I got in at 2!
I also had a bit of a naughty evening for my sisters birthday - everyone bought KFC before I had the chance to tell them I was doing slimming world... and i'd had a generally **** day so I just went ahead and ate a shedload of fried chicken!

But I actually managed to lose..... 3.5lbs! :D
Yay!

I'm going to make sure that I really stay on track this week as I know from previous experience that it can catch up with you the week after!
Good luck to everyone else and I hope you've all had good weeks!
