Hi Everyone!

My name is Priya!

I used to be a member on this forum a year ago, when I first started my weight loss journey. I started of at just under 14st, and now I am ALMOST at 10st (10st3lbs!) My goal is to get to 9st ideally (or just when my stomach is flat!) before I then start a new journey - Mission abs!

I started off with slimming world, and had great success... lost my first 2 stone with SW! I then found myself getting bored of the diet (as I always seem to do with most diets) and started to plateau a bit. This is when I began my 5:2 journey. This diet saw my quickest weight loss. I lost another 2 stone on this and hit my initial goal of 10st7lbs. I was so happy!! Until I looked in the mirror. I still had a belly. I hated this.

I began going to the gym and working out and my body began toning up pretty well (I did 2 days HIIT cardio and 3 days weight training). I then got some fabulous news! I had been offered a new job. With this meant moving cities though. My diet took a back seat as I began my search for a new place to live and settling into my new job.

And we now arrive to now (or more precisely 4 months ago).

I joined the gym, but for some reason I just couldn't stick to it. My diet was fine and I wasn't gaining any weight, but I was stuck at 10st7lbs for ages. The gym I joined was male and female (my previous gym was female only) and this threw me a little. I was too anxious to go into the weights room because I still wasn't 100% comfortable with my body. So i quit.

I literally had no idea what to do. I tried running, but frankly I cant run more than 5 minutes without feeling like im going to die, so that faded quickly. And then I read about beachbody (before I continue... let me add, I am NOT a beachbody coach, nor will i ever be one!)
There workouts looked immense! No way could I ever do any of THAT!!!! I also wasnt planning on forking out a fortune for shakeology - I'd rather have real food thanks.

Anyways after much researching, I decided to try out T25. A tamer version of Insanity. 25 minutes a day... cant really complain with that! Week 1 KILLED ME!! who the hell told me this was an easy programme?!?!Stuck to it and before I knew it.. I had completed the first two months! I couldn't believe it. I had loved every second of it!

Next step... I tried Insanity. Man was I petrified! And yes, yet again, week 1 killed me. Muscles that I didnt even know existed hurt like hell!! And I thought month 1 was bad... month 2.. WHAT?! Now I know why they call it insanity!

I completed it! I was an Insanity Grad! Despite all that effort... I had only lost 4lbs...BUT my body looked tighter than ever! And I was even starting to see some ab definition...

I then moved onto my next challenge! Insanity Max 30! 30 minutes a day... absolute killer. After every workout I am drenched head to toe in sweat. Even my knees sweat!!! I lost 1lb in the first week!!

unfortunately EASTER CAME!

I GAINED 7lbs! Them dam easter eggs!!! So now here I am week 2 into Insanity max:30... back up to 10st9lbs

I re-did the week I missed during easter and now I am on my final week of month 1, and I am back down to 10st3.4lbs! Yippee!!!

Not only this but I have now also started RUNNING - yes i know earlier I said I couldnt run, but guess what... I tried and I managed to do 5k in 29.57 minutes - that was my first attempt! Only stopped once! I cannot believe how much my body has improved!
My second 5k, I shaved off 1 minute. Coming in at 28.46 minutes.
I have my next 5k tomorrow and I want to get to 28 minutes exactly!! That is my goal.
Thats a lie... my actual goal is 26 minutes... (my boyfriends sister - who is a PT - ran 5k in 26 minutes - and yes i want to beat her!)

Other improvements I have noticed:
- My resting HR has gone down from 76 to 55
- I can see my upper abs on good days
- I have gone down from a size 20 to a size 12
- I can run for longer now without stopping at all
- I am far more flexible
- My endurance for extreme exercise has shot up - I can do far more than I ever anticipated
- I LOOK AMAZING!

So from here.. you all follow my journey.

My aim?

Short term - get under 10st by June - This is when I jet off to New York!
Long term - I want to get engaged in a year so I want to be down to 9st by then
Longer term - I WANT ABS BY THE TIME IM 30! (im turning 28 in July!)

My current diet is looking at high and low days... I should be eating 1700 cals per day..I have split this up:

Monday: 1700
Tuesday: 1200
Wednesday: 1700
Thursday: 1200
Friday: 1700
Saturday: 2300
Sunday: 2300

Sort of averaging out at 1700 per day really...
Macros:
120g Protein
160/170g Carb
70g Fat

I would love some support - the last time I was on here I met some amazing people! And I would love to hear from people who have done Insanity or any other beachbody workout and how have you got on?

Morning!

I have to admit, getting the balance of high and low is really difficult, because I have a really bad habit of not logging what I eat on the weekends!

And I also have the bad habit of lowering my calories without noticing when I don't see a drop in weight which is REALLY bad! Last week on my high cal days I was still only clocking in at 1600.

The weekend gain is the hardest thing to battle, because although I know weight loss is not linear and it will fluctuate constantly throughout the week, I know Monday morning weigh in will always be the worst because it will reflect the two super high cal days from the weekend.

The Saturday just gone, I did a 5k run (which I improved by 2 minutes... managed it in 26.51 minutes! MY PB!) I then went home and completed Fridays insanity workout because my workouts were pushed back by a day..I then went to a national park with the other half, and walked for around 2 hours!

Saturday morning I weighed in at 10st2.4lbs (again!!) and this morning, its up to 10st6.4lbs!Blergh! I know its my own fault, I shouldn't weigh myself everyday, but I cant help it!

So it will be interesting to see how it goes down this week.

This week also marks the beginning of my second month of Insanity Max 30, which I know will bring harder workouts than last month! I will also be encorperating some PiYo workouts into it aswell (Tues and Thurs has the lower burns of the week so to bump it up I will be putting in the shorter workouts from Piyo)

I've also checked my food diary for this week and my high cal days are only clocking in at 1550 cals.

Well i'm down 1lb, but the serious floatation around the same weight is really starting to pee me off!! so i've made the rash decision to go back to doing 5:2, starting from next week! I will do 500 cals on my fast days (tues and thurs) and 1700 cals on my non fast days (mon, weds, fri) and then approx 2400 on the weekend... thus averaging out my daily intake to around 1550ish! according to my TDEE and the amount of cals i need to lose, this should set me up for just over 1lb loss per week, but I envisage this to be lower..well because.. it always is!

It will be interesting to see how I cope with my insanity and piyo hybrid on days I am fasting, but I have previously managed 24 hour fasts and then gone to the gym for a HIIT workout...

I think I will keep this up until new york just to see how it pans out. Once I am back I will re-evaluate if it hasn't gone to plan!
 
Down to 144.6lbs today so down 2lbs from Monday morning.. still not back to my weight from Sat morning though! I have got my fast today, and so far a cup of coffee and a litre of water down. I feel fine, no headaches or anything, I am feeling hungry though!!! im used to snacking throughout the day so this is difficult! and I defo know its not in my mind because my stomach feels like it has knots from the hunger!! anyways im going to plod along! I have a small lunch of chicken pasta at 2pm and then 6pm my insanity workout with Piyo and then a can of tomato soup after that! Hopefully i can get back down before Saturday! I do know its probs not going to as im due on next week so its prob a bit of pre period bloat!
Anywho's I will check back in tomorrow!

Happy Friday! :D

After my first fast yday (which was successful, and pretty easy considering how long it has been since I last did 5:2) I am back down to 143lbs. Only 0.4lbs away from where I was last week. My bloating seems to have disappeared too, although I imagine that will be back next week when I do actually start the devil days.

Yesterday I also tested out an amazzzingg recipe for a brownie. And in actual fact I was so lazy and it was so tasty that I swapped my tomato soup (230ish cals) for this protein brownie (130 cals - AND great macros!! 24g protein, 4g carb and 1.5g fat!)

Its called the beltsander brownie... i assume because someone called beltsander invented it. And by the looks of it, its taking over the protein world! And for me, I cannot STAND the average protein shake. They make my mouth furry! Yuck! so any way I can bump up protein in any other way is great news for me, and this certainly is a winner!!

1 scoop of protein powder (I assume chocolate flavour would be the first choice but this can be customised)
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1/4 cup or 60mls of almond milk (or any other milk of your choice)

mix it together in a microwavable cup/mug/bowl and zap it in the microwave for around 30-35 seconds.

This came out soo gooey and fudgy and delicious! Going to make this tomorrow with some ice cream for me and my fella!

Anywhos, back to a normal day today and I have got:

Proats (protien, oats, peanut butter, cinnamon, almond milk and blueberrys)
Carrot
6 table water crackers
Light babybel
Chicken pasta
Bag of smokey bacon crispys
and for dinner, 2 eggs with cooked ham and cheese and salad

Clocking in at around 1515 calories.

Tomorrow I have my run and two more Piyo workouts and then weigh in! woo!
 
Morning all. I don't tend to come on here on weekends, so a quick catch up is in need!

Saturday morning my muscles were aching so much I couldn't get up for my run! :( but my weigh in was on Sat morning and I was pleased to see the scale at 142lbs! Which to my surprise, is 0.5lb loss! Super happy with that.

Today marks the start of the first official 5:2 week. So hoping that it brings more of a loss!

This weeks menu:

Monday - Wednesday - Friday

Protein Oats
Carrots and Hummus
2 Boiled Eggs
Ham and Cheese Salad Sandwich on Soya and Linseed Bread
Bag of Crisps
Protein Yoghurt (This stuff is amazing! Its by a brand called Arla - Tastes a bit like petit filu - yes I cant spell! - and it has 20g protein in it!!)
Quorn and Chorizo Chilli with 25g pasta

1689 Calories

Tues - Thurs


Protein Shake
Plain Salad
Steamed Veg with Gravy
3 Scrambled Eggs

516 Calories
 
Tuesday is here! First official fast day and I am strangely looking forward to it! Just stuck to having a coffee so far this morning and 1 litre of water down. My first major hunger pang kicked in at 10.30am, and was churning in my stomach, but its now gone and I have a cup of lemon green tea to help! I have my two mini lunches - Salad with fat free dressing and boiled veg with some gravy... deciding which to have first or whether to have them both together...

I feel so excited to see the scales show me under 10 stone, but I need to make sure I don't get ahead of myself, because I always end up getting disappointed!!

Going back to my parents this weekend as well for my fathers birthday! 5:2 couldn't have come at a better time. Providing I stick to my plan all this week, I can afford to indulge a little this weekend. I am off work on Friday and Monday though, and its usually days I'm at home, I find it harder to control my hunger!
 
Yesterdays fast day went extremely well!

Just as an update.. my weight always goes up on Monday morning because of the increase in cals over the weekend. This Monday I was 145.2, today I am back down to 142.8.. to me thats a good sign. Im positive in that I could potentially get down to 141 for this weeks weigh in.
Talking about weigh ins, mine might have to be Friday this week, because I am going to my parents Friday evening for the bank holiday weekend so I won't be able to weigh whilst I am there.

Today is a normal day and im pretty busy at work so not had time to think about my snacks at all! But I will eat them! Had my boiled eggs already.

Boiled eggs frustrate me! I boil them the night before, and let them go cold. I then wrap them in foil for the next day. No matter what, I will unwrap it and it will be watery! WHY! WHYYY?! I don't want watery eggs. Anyone know ANY hacks to stop this from happening?!

Will eat my carrots and hummous in a bit too... then off to a meeting before lunch.
 
Up 0.2lbs to 143lbs today. No biggie. I figured in the first week of fasting that going from a fast day to a non fast day will show some small increase.
Today is fast day number 2. Don't feel hungry at all. Just need to hang out until 12pm then I can have my two carrots and then my salad at 2pm. I feel like setting a time for my snacks really helps me to control myself. Im hoping tomorrow on weigh in, ill see myself under 142lbs. Im optimistic!!!

Did my Insanity Max Out Sweat yday and BOY did it make me sweat!! Knees are still giving me grief so ended up modifying the whole workout, which saw my max out time increase from 7 minutes to 19 minutes!! Amazing how a few jumps kick your butt!! Still sweated just as much and burnt cals at the normal rate (10cals per minute usually).. Followed by Piyo Core. This was great and worked my core really well!! I had some difficulty with some moves that required being on my knees quite a bit, so had to kind of skip past some of these moves.

Kind of glad I only have 2 weeks left of Max. I love it and I cant believe how quickly its gone, but the toll its taking on my knees is crazy. Defo think I may need to invest in some different trainers for Round 2. Ive been reading a lot about how we should be wearing crosstrainers. At the mo im just wearing normal running trainers and Im wondering if this is whats bothering my knees.

Morning everyone!

Feeling a bit gutted this morning.

As you all know I decided to weigh in early last week due to going away for the long bank holiday weekend, which I did and to my annoyance, I weighed in at 142.2lbs. 0.2lbs higher than the Saturday before. My fast days and non fast days were great and I was on track so this irritated me a little! Then feasted a little over the weekend. Virtually no exercise at all AND started my period yesterday (much later than predicted) and this morning my weight read 146.6lbs. ERGH :( :( disappointment! Common sense tells me a lot of that weight is water due to period and excess food from the weekend and not all fat.. so I guess I will just have to continue and hope for the best this week. Of course only a 4 day week. Probably ate way over TDEE yday too... but I have lowered my intake on non fast days this week from 1700 to 1500... and I think I may continue with this number going forward and see how this goes.

The festivities are over, so for the next couple of weeks, I will not be eating at an excess over the weekend, so I'm hoping that also helps too!

Im just hoping I have enough energy to work out tonight!

Morning all!

I had a very successful fast day yesterday! It kinda helped that I was in a lot of pain and didnt feel like eating! Had just under 500 cals and weighed in this morning at 144lbs, which is 2.5lbs down from yday! Not gonna complain about that!

Normal day today and I have:

Choco Oats
Beltsander Brownie
Grapes/Strawberries with peanut butter
Alpen light bar
2 x light darylea
Stuffed pepper with quorn and salad
sugar free jelly
Homemade chicken curry and rice

Actually sounds like a heck of a lot of food... but it only clocks in at around 1360 cals! Significantly lower than expected.. but I don't think ill physically be able to fit in any more food, so that will have to do!

Did not end up working out last night, and decided im just going to rest it out this week. Not only am I in stupid pain because of period, but my knee is still playing up, so figured may as well just rest it out this week and get back on it next week. I also dont really expect to see much loss this week purely because im not working out and apart from that I practically sit on my ass all day long!

Super glad its wednesday today - not long till the weekend now I hope!! End of the week always tends to drag for me cus its a lot quieter at work!

Hey here to follow just read your diary and loved it! I'm deffo gonna give the brownie a try :) and I love people that smell nice but not good that he doesn't look good haha x

The brownie is amazing, but be careful with the microwaving! I've found 25-30 seconds is much better! Depending on the microwave.. last time i made it at work with the full 30 seconds it came out all hard and gross! Yuckkie!

Congrats on the 4stone weight loss... thats amazing!

Aww thank you, shouldn't be too bad in my microwave it's like the lowest power one ever lol it's useless I think we got the wrong one by accident!! Nice to see you too, I love all the exercise you do, I am just working up to doing a bit more exercise ATM insanity looks scary!! X

And thank you very much!! I was reading through my old thread, and cannot believe how far I have come! I also cannot believe how little I used to eat.. I eat like a horse now!

How are you doing and how is your weight loss coming along?

Glad the rain has finally decided to settle. Its been a right miserable couple of days. Yesterday it poured it down, and walked all the way home (20 minute walk) in the soddin rain only to remember that my brolly was in my handbag. D'oh - Period Brain! If this is what my period brain is like i'd hate to think what my pregnancy brain is like.

Feeling a bit better this morning altho all this week I have been feeling kinda irritated. Feel bad I even snapped at the other half the other night for no apparent reason. Funny thing is he thinks hes done something wrong so is grovelling.. pahaha what a fool.. i think ill let him carry on for a bit longer!

For those of you who used to follow my old thread... the guy i'm currently with is actually the guy i dated for a while, and then turned around to me and said i remind him of his ex and made him realise he still loved her. Yep. I pretty much hated his guts.

Fast forward a year and a half and I don't actually know what pushed me to message him of facebook.. but I did. Just to see how he was doing. And it all started from there! He told me he had been going through a difficult time. He gained crap loads of weight, and lost it all and since then he has been in a way better place. He said he never forgot me and so many times he thought of messaging me (probs kissing my butt but hey ho was nice to hear!) Anyway.. long story short... we never stopped talking since that day.. and now we've been together for coming up to 10 months and I couldn't be happier. Im completely in love with him, and were hoping to get engaged next year! Funny how things work out hey!

I NEED A FLAT STOMACH BEFORE THEN! lol

Love story over. Now you know my life. Yay.
Be warned I tend to vent a lot! haha

Anyways back to the picture.

Fast day today and I have:

- Belsander Brownie
- Grapes
- 10 Cal Hartleys Sugar Free Jelly (THIS IS A LIFE SAVER)
- WW Chicken Soup (I will NOT be buying this again - ergh RANK ALERT)
- 2 whole scrambled eggs + 100g egg whites

I kinda wanna get back into my 24 hour fasts, but I don't know if my body will cope with such a lack of food when I eat so much these days.. haha.. might have to test the waters next week.

Todays weight: 143.8lbs

TGIF tomorrow!
