New to this - a little help needed

A friend of mine recommended I join Weight Watchers, though I am currently in Spain so it's not so easy as there isn't an English speaking group near where I am.

I did WW several years ago and have some cook books, as well as a wheel thing to calculate points but my friend told me it's all changed now and Pro Points is the new system. I therefore have 2 questions as I'm doing it on my own:

My friend has bought me the books I need including Eating Out guide etc. which I can try and apply to the places I am able to eat out here and the supermarkets here as they're different to the UK. I know I could join the Spanish website but I don't normally eat Spanish food and my Spanish isn't that great so would prefer to use the books I'm about to receive from her.

I remember it being quite easy to calculate points for foods I ate and meals I made, though I'm not sure with the new system. Can someone recommend an easy way to work out meals etc. or do I have to calculate meals based on all the ingredients? I've also noticed that fibre is used to calculate the points, how do I work out the points value if fibre isn't listed (ie. on my Activia 0% yogurt)?

Lastly is there a formula/way I can work out the points a meal has using the old system (ie. from one of my old WW books) and convert it to the new points system?

Based on my weight 145lbs, height 5 foot 4 and age 39 I seem to have 23 points as a total Pro Points to start with but I read somewhere that you should start with 29 as a minimum although this seems a little much to me as I've often found I put on weight eating the same amount others are given to eat when trying to lose weight as I already normally only eat around 1000-1200 calories per day and have gradually been putting on weight (have had thyroid checked and all ok).

If the Fibre isn't listed I just say '0'

I just worked out your Points Allowance from your stats listed above and your allowance is 26 Daily PP plus 49 Weekly PP, that's the minimum anyone can be in so it won't go down as you lose weight.

Good Luck and if you have any further questions, do not hesitate to ask. X
