My Wise Main Meal (Including Gravy/Sauce) Recipes

This looks lovely ladies! Must try it! X

You really must - it was lovely and cheap to make especially a meal for 4 people.
Thinking about it should have put some jacket potatoes in with it as it did take a little more time than the recipe suggested and will have it with salad and dressing next time.
A 5* in my book - my kind of food.

Glad you enjoyed it- yours looks just like mine lol .
I was wondering about getting the Phillips Airfryer thing as it sounds fab - but a bit expensive and I don't know if I have the room!!

We have had the Actifry for a couple of years and really like it - my hubby ( 5ft 6" and 64kgs) uses it more than I do as he likes chips with anything and he puts about half of the oil they recommend and his chips are brilliant but the S.W. with the spray are - IMO - awful - would rather have a jacket.
We live in a smallish flat and keep the Actifry in a living room cupboard along with all the other gadgets we have. The only things on our kitchen work surface are the toaster - Jamie Oliver electric pressure cooker and my "can't live without" Vitamix which has to be the buy of my life.

What's a vitamin?

My fan oven does cook everything a log quicker - I promise ;)

I think it was a mix of the two to be honest! Lol
I was feeling lazy so bought some smoked salmon, added it to some Philly, added salt and pepper and mixed it in with some spaghetti.

I now see why you had the extra step of adding the stock etc as it was exceptionally dry. The actual taste was lovely though.

Next time I'll do as I'm told lol

Thanks again x

SHEPHERDS PIE (syn free) on EE day

Serves 4

Ingredients
Frylight
400g-500g extra lean mince
approx 160g mushrooms , chopped
6 small carrots , top & tailed, peeled & sliced
1 onion, finely chopped
Dry tarragon
1-2 Tblsp tomato purée
150ml boiled water
1 stock cube (lamb, beef or pork)
1 rich stockpot
2-4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 bayleaf
A load of potatoes for mashing (I prefer Desiree)
1 egg
A little milk from HEA
salt & pepper

Spray frylight into a large frying pan and fry the onion, mushroom & carrots until soft.
Add the mince and brown
Add the boiled water, stock cube & stock pot, tomato purée , Worcestershire sauce, tarragon, baylead and seasoning.

Cover & simmer for a good hour.
Taste and add seasoning

Whilst cooking, peel and cut up potatoes. Boil.
Drain potatoes once soft. Mash with egg and milk and seasoning. I use either a ricer or handheld mixer to make smooth.

Set oven to a hot setting - mine is 200 deg C fan.

Put mince in a casserole dish and top with potato. Either pipe potato on top or smooth potato over mince and use a fork to make some ridges.

Bake for 15-20 mins or until crispy.

Serve with peas.
