5:2 fasting

Done this for a week and weighed in today and it says 4lb off I can't believe it. I found this week quite early as I have not been to the gym but have been so busy with work working 8am - 9pm

The second week may be harder as I have a few days of work and have my gym partner back so back at gym so will have to see how I go when I am fasting and doing gym too.

Does anybody know if I stop eating from 7.00pm today and fast until 7.00pm tomorrow and eat a proper meal does this count as a fast day or does it not work like this ?

Well done on the loss! It's a very good one!

Im afraid I don't know the answer as I haven't started 5:2 but plan to once I'm introducing food from a vlcd. I've a feeling it may not? Though not sure

There a 5:2 international forum that sets the plan out if you google it you can take a look until some on Minis drops by to confirm. For me minis is the best support forum though!

Doing 24 hours of fasting at a time is another recognised form of fasting. It isn't 5:2 but it definitely works for some. :) Google "Eat stop eat".

There are also other methods of fasting where you give yourself an "eating window" each day, be that 4, 5 or even 8 hours a day. Again, Google "Fast 5" or "intermittent fasting" or even "eating window". There should be something that appeals to you and will work with your lifestyle. Happy web hunting!

Well I went and bought the book - the one written by Dr Mosley from the Horizon programme. The Fast Diet. There are quite a few othe fast diet books out there by other doctors so worth checking which fasting plan you want to do.

Hi, just noticed this section on the forum. I have done JUDDD but my loss (if any) was very slow. I am still trying to lose after an over Christmas binge fest. :( Can't seem to get it off after all this time and I have been very strict. I noticed some are having success and wondered if there are any weight loss advantages to the 5:2 over JUDDD which is every other day?
