GlitteryFriday's Low Carbing
Hi everyone. I'm not doing strictly Atkins but the low carb board seems so dead quiet I hope you don't mind me joining here - I'm still doing low carb-ish - just not as strict as Atkins.
I cut out sugar, chocolate, cakes, biscuits, pasta, rice, bread 1 week ago - and I feel amazing! I've felt so much less bloated and more energetic and positive.
I have to say my skin has been horrific - so many breakouts I've never seen anything like it! But I read it can often be when body starts letting go of fat and the fat cells are full of toxins that are making their way out - I like the sound of that!
So far I'm down from 17st 3lb (!!!) to 16st 10lb.
I generally have an omelette or a Quest bar and coffee for breakfast.
Then a salad/veg with chicken/fish for lunch and then same for dinner only switch the protein up so if I had fish for lunch I will have chicken for dinner and vice versa.
I try and drink lots of water, I'm terrible at drinking water but I am trying hard. I'm also roughly counting calories too, I know many people say you don't need to but as I am entering my food on MFP anyway to see my carb intake and macros then I might as well keep an eye on my calories too!
So I will try and post here every day to keep me going - so far I have not felt weak once! Which is a miracle as even with calorie counting when I had my daily target as 1800 I could not stick to it. I think however that because I'm not eating any sugary stuff there's nothing I can have that would make me go over my calories! (I don't feel like snacking on more bacon, ham and eggs when I feel the need to munch!)
Any buddies/friends are very welcome - would love to have people doing a similar thing to share the journey with! ?
Welcome sounds like you got the hang of it! A few of us don't do strict Atkins and watch and cals too. I'm terrible at drinking water as well but feel so much better when I do.
Weighed this morning and I'm 16st 8lb! My first full week of low carbing - DONE!
Today I had a Quest bar for breakfast, coffee and a small Salami snack (25g).

B: Quest bar Coffee with a dash of milk Deli Salami slice (1g of carbs per 100g!!)
L: Lettuce Tomatoes Cucumber Avocado Chicken Fried egg Sprinkle of cheese Mayo
D: 2 x chicken frankfurter
Total calories: 1402

Full fat greek yoghurt with a tiny bit of honey and raspberries.

Bit of a crazy day today. Had my hair cut which is nice.
B: Fried egg, 2 slices of bacon, tomato and a coffee with a dash of milk.
L: Raspberries, salami, blue cheese and red pepper. Some sugar free jelly with double cream for dessert.
D: Chicken, salad, mayo
Hiya and welcome! I'm terrible at drinking too, must try harder! I'm not doing Atkins anymore, cc and exercise seems to work for me.

Yeah i can't do full on Atkins either, I enjoy my fruit!
