If you go to this website Project Gutenberg - free ebooks you can download thousands of e-books free and it`s all legal and above board,i think there are about 36 thousand of them.if you need to convert them use calibre.PS Kindle is the best for reading in bright sunlight,it is just like reading a normal book.

It's great to see I'm not the only one struggling with the decision to get the Kindle! Though I have to admit, my inner-geek has been crying out for it since the moment I first saw it. I love holding a book, but I'm just not as good as most of you seem to be with passing the books around (not that I don't share, but I don't necessarily give away) I just love my books too much, and I re-read them constantly, which is why I have bookshelves overflowing - I figure the Kindle would be a good way to try and keep what little book-free space I have left!

Did you know you can get it to turn the pages automatically?

    Open the book
Press the Aa button and turn on Text-to-Speech
Turn the volume right down as the voice is horrible! (bottom of Kindle under space bar)
Select speech rate (I have it on the fastest - it's still slower than I read, but it "automatically" turns the page for you)

I wasn't sure about getting a Kindle as I love real books so much, but it made sense with the amount of commuting I do. Now I love it and wouldn't be without it

I like the freebies and have bought plenty, but haven't yet found the HP series . . .

Found a downside to the ebook reader...the cracked screen I dropped mine over a year ago and got a tiny crack down the side, which wasn't a big deal. But a few weeks ago the entire side cracked beyond readability.

I didn't realize how much I'd become to depend on it...
