My first experience of a VLCD was in March when I tried Exante as a last minute desperate attempt to lose weight before a holiday over Easter. I achieved a loss of 8lbs after following the plan 100% for 1 week.
Since returning from holiday I have been following the plan on and off and have managed to keep the weight off.
I am now going to try to follow the plan properly, starting fresh today. I have taken advice from the diaries on here and have taken my measurements and some starting photos. I am usually a daily weigher but I will attempt to weigh only once a week. Hopefully starting a diary will keep me on track and motivated to see this through.
My weight has always yo-yoed and I have been overweight since a child. At my heaviest I was 21½ stone and my lightest was 11 stone. In the past SW has worked for me but doesn’t anymore, too much flexibility for me, nothing is banned and once I start on the syns there’s no stopping. I seem to be all or nothing which is why I think Exante will work for me.
I have been fortunate in my younger days that I have not looked my weight, now however is a different story. I am now fatter and two dress sizes bigger then when I was last this weight. It’s time to take action before my health starts to suffer.
I have set myself a target weight loss of 52lbs by the end of the year, I will decide if I’m going to lower it when I get there depending on how I feel and look.
Day one hasn’t been too tough as it’s not new to me; following the plan 100% will be my challenge. I have had a shake for breakfast, soup for lunch, half a bar before going to the gym and half a bar when I got back. I have had black coffee and over 4 litres ofwater to drink.
At the gym I did 30 mins on the exercise bike = 12km/165Cal and 15 mins on the treadmill = 2km/65Cal.
Pleased with my new start, hope I can keep it up.
