    100% Exante Target

My first experience of a VLCD was in March when I tried Exante as a last minute desperate attempt to lose weight before a holiday over Easter. I achieved a loss of 8lbs after following the plan 100% for 1 week.

Since returning from holiday I have been following the plan on and off and have managed to keep the weight off.

I am now going to try to follow the plan properly, starting fresh today. I have taken advice from the diaries on here and have taken my measurements and some starting photos. I am usually a daily weigher but I will attempt to weigh only once a week. Hopefully starting a diary will keep me on track and motivated to see this through.

My weight has always yo-yoed and I have been overweight since a child. At my heaviest I was 21 stone and my lightest was 11 stone. In the past SW has worked for me but doesn’t anymore, too much flexibility for me, nothing is banned and once I start on the syns there’s no stopping. I seem to be all or nothing which is why I think Exante will work for me.

I have been fortunate in my younger days that I have not looked my weight, now however is a different story. I am now fatter and two dress sizes bigger then when I was last this weight. It’s time to take action before my health starts to suffer.

I have set myself a target weight loss of 52lbs by the end of the year, I will decide if I’m going to lower it when I get there depending on how I feel and look.
Day one hasn’t been too tough as it’s not new to me; following the plan 100% will be my challenge. I have had a shake for breakfast, soup for lunch, half a bar before going to the gym and half a bar when I got back. I have had black coffee and over 4 litres ofwater to drink.

At the gym I did 30 mins on the exercise bike = 12km/165Cal and 15 mins on the treadmill = 2km/65Cal.

Pleased with my new start, hope I can keep it up.

    Day 2

The day started well. When I woke up I went into the bathroom and went about my usual routine and at the last minute stopped myself from stepping on the scales.

Work today was a little stressy but I didn't help myself when it was biscuit time and have so far had a 100% day.

Now the challenge of the weekend begins. Hubby came in with carrier bags of goodies for the weekend (including a bottle of my favourite cider). I know he isn't on a diet but I can't help but feel resentful and like he is being unthoughtful. BUT I have been on a diet for the last 15 years he has known me and suppose he has heard it all before?

He asked if I fancied a walk over to the beer garden and I suggested we just had a walk, which is what we are about to do.

I plan to have my third pack when we get back and go on the treadmill while the rest of the family have their dinner.

I really want to do this 100%.

How do you tackle the weekend and all the temptations?

Hi there. Well done for getting started. As you know it is hard at the start and a little bit harder the second time around but you have done so well keeping your original loss off, that is a huge part of the long term weight battle. Take a bow and give yourself a pat on the back.

i find I deal with weekends and any other day, one meal at a time. I don't consider the food as packs, I see them as meals and try to fit them as so.

Go go to that beer garden have a fizzy water if it's not too hard. That way this diet doesn't rule your life. You still live.

    best of luck

Welcome to the forum CP. Can you ask your husband to hide the temptations away until you are into the swing of things.

Try to keep yourself busy. The treadmill will help keep you occupied so pop on there for a while as most moments of temptation will disappear after a while.

Well done on getting to the end of day 2 xx

    Thank you Susie58.

Absolutely right, the temptation had passed by the time we got back from our walk

Husband drank the cider and said it was best out the way. He also said it's no good him telling me I shouldn't be having something because I would only have three times as much - oh he knows me so well

Looking forward to another 100% day tomorrow, hope you have a good one too.

    Hi m,

We do virtually have the same goal weight loss and date; so we can keep an eye on each other .

I have set the end of the year as my goal date to keep the pressure off and to allow for a 2 week break in August, upcoming family celebrations etc. I'll be chuffed to bits if I can get their sooner, watching everyone elses successes on here will spur me on to do my best.

Hope you are having a great weekend!

    Hi Katie,

Hope you are having a good weekend & well done on your fantastic weight loss!

I have a good weekend and stuck to it 100%. Last night I was happy to drink my fizzy water whilst everyone else was on the booze, when the nibbles and crisps started going around I thought I would struggle but surprised myself at how easily I said no. My son was really funny and didn't believe I was drinking water "Yeah right Mum, that's Vodka" he even sniffed my glass Kids hey x

    Day 3 & 4

    Day 3

100% Shake for breakfast, bar for lunch, Spag Bol for dinner, over 4 litres of water.

Spent a couple of hours at our allotment in the afternoon, worked fairly hard but didn't get as much done as intended. My body felt really heavy and I didn't have much energy, guess that's 3 days on 600Cal catching up. Then spent the rest of the day pottering about in the garden and doing jobs about the house before going for a lovely walk with hubby in the evening.

I am happy to say that not drinking or eating junk had no impact on my evening. When I was splitting my sides about a joke, three people said simultaneously "Oh No! she's just as silly sober".

    Day 4

    100% (so far) Feeling positive.

Didn't get to the gym this morning as I slept in, will go this evening instead. Had porridge for breakfast, which I struggled to finish and felt very full afterwards. Ketosis?

Off now for a family bike ride. Hope you all have a lovely Sunday.

Well done on resisting the evening snacks CP. Its a good sign that you enjoyed your evening & didn't feel deprived. Its not for ever after all.

    Quick update on Day 4.

Family bike ride and gym postponed. Kids too cool to be seen with Mum & Dad, so they caught the train to the beach.

Hubby & me walked down later to meet them and take our 10 year old swimming, walked to the pool and then home; in total we walked 5.5 miles - not the 10 year old, pool is on the way back, that would be cruel . Shattered so giving the gym a miss tonight.

Whilst sat on the beach I had a bar while the others had ice creams. I didn't feel like I was missing out, I enjoyed my bar and it lasted longer then their ice creams.

Cottage pie for dinner tonight, we all sat together and I had a shepherds pie pack. A nice family mealtime, I think I'm at the stage when we can eat together again . I did leave the table while they had pudding though, fresh fruit salad yum yum!

    Another 100% day done.

Hope everyone has a good Monday.
