HowardSpanner diary

I'm finally taking my life back. After saying for months that I want to lose the last 2 stone to bring me back to the weight I was before I had my 2nd child, I'm finally doing it. I've just finished day 1 (and with three children it's been a tough day.)

I know I don't have that much weight to lose but I want to kick start it with the EXANTE, before moving on to the 5:2 diet after a month. If I don't kick start it then I will constantly start dieting one day and the next day give up. I need to see the results to keep motivated.

Really can't wait until ketosis starts, but hey….one day down! :D

The headaches are horrible, aren't they FGS1965. I hope today gives you some relief.

I have no hunger pangs this morning which is a relief, but that darn headache is still there. I've had my first shake of the day and am now on a cup of tea. Thinking about it perhaps I should have left my first shake until slightly later as I wasn't hungry (Not that strange though as I never have breakfast normally), but it's my husband's day off and him and my 2 year old were having a biscuit so I "wanted" something.

All I need is the headaches to go and I'm sure it'll be plain sailing. What's really going to test me is having to cook for the family. My husband can't cook and won't cook more than things that can be bunged in the oven. I've told him I'll cook for him every other day and make more batch meals for him and the kids. (I'm a huge fan of freezing portions, which hopefully will help keep temptation away.)

You sound like you have a good plan there HS. I'm lucky in that I don't need to cook as hubby is a better cook than me & enjoys it too :D.

Hopefully drinking lots of fluid will get rid of that headache soon.

Hope today goes well. x

I'm feeling so much better this afternoon. I've had about 2.5litres of water and two mugs of tea. I tried some of the mousse mix in my banana shake for supper and was really pleased with firstly, how long it took me to eat it and secondly, how full I felt. It was nice to "eat" something.

I completely forgot but I'm going to a play with friends on Saturday and we had agreed to go get something to eat before going. Would a chicken Caeser salad without the parmesan, croutons and "dressing on the side" keep me in ketosis? I've not told anyone other than my husband that I'm dieting as you get the "oh you don't need to go on a diet" comments even when it's clear that I've gotten a bit chunky recently, so can't really cancel but really don't want to kick myself out of ketosis.

I usually have chicken or salmon with veg or salad & no dressings. Not sure about Chicken Caeser. does it have dressing within it x

I'll have a look at their menu. I was thinking not having the dressing, by asking for it on the side. ….anyway…I have a few days to think about it.

How are you doing?

Feeling a lot better today. Woke up energised (and with 3 children, one who's only 8 months old, that doesn't happen often.) Am having a few glasses of water and then will think about my first shake of the day.

Glad to see all is going well. You must almost be in ketosis.

Sounds like you have your hands full. I have 3 children too but they are all adults now. I look back in wonder & dismay sometimes lol  x
