i put weight on when i had mine in, and so after a year i had it removed and i lost a bit of weight, that was without dieting tho, so i expect you might find losing weight easier. everyone has different opinions tho so i might be wrong!! lol x
thank you, at long last an honest straight answer
I put 4 stone on when i had mine in, as soon as i had it out i started to loose and i'm now 33lbs down
That implant was horrific!
did you try to loose weight o did your diet remain the same and it was the implant made the difference
Oh god yeah, i tried so hard to loose the weight when it piled on. I went through the doctors with it and when they realised the weight wouldn't come off - they took it out, i don't think my PCOS helped either as this makes it difficult to loose the weight anyway. I certainly wouldn't have put 4 stone on that fast with the help of that implant.
I'm glad it's out now, just a long road to getting the weight off now!!
I've had Implanon in for about 17 years, when I first had it put in it didn't affect my weight. My weight gain has only started the last few years. I've still got it in & don't feel it affects my loss at all.
My daughter had Implanon put in 2 years ago & she didn't gain any weight either.
I haven't gained any weight on Implanon, and I haven't found losing difficult either.
I was on Depo Provera injections before, and don't think that contributed to my weight gain either.
I had the implant in January, and have up to now found it's had no effect whatsoever on my weight loss. In fact, the fact that it doesn't increase your appetite like the pill and the injection does, is one of the main reasons I chose to change my contraceptive methods.
I put on a stone when I started on the pill. And the same when I switched to the injection.
It hasn't slowed my weight loss down either.
There you go then...i suppose this highlights the point that everyone is different

When I got the implanon put in back in May 2010 I weighed 170, I got it taken out on October 13th 2010 and was at 186.5. So far I haven't really lost any of it, but I know the implanon caused the gain because I was eating right and going to the gym and even working with a personal trainer. Nothing helped. So at the end I quit, maybe if I get back on the wagon I will lose the weight now that it is out. It caused a whole host of bad side effects. Since removal though I haven't gotten a period at all, just cramping, but no period. So confused by it all and slightly angry. Why didn't they say that we would gain so much weight so quickly .
I am not sure if this applies to everyone, but when dicussing my weight gain with my GP, she said that both the pill and the injection contain a hormone that makes you hungry, and thus, many, many women gain weight whilst using this mode of contraception. My GP also said that the Implant is completely different, it doesn't release the same hormone, and because it releases the hormones over a very long period of time, you're getting a very steady dose, where as with the injection and pill, it drops off and then, BAM! When you take another or get it again, it spikes again. Like I said earlier, the fact that the G[ said it has no impact on weight gain/loss, is the reason I chose it.

I really want to get the implant, but I disagree with so many pills im scared it will kill my sex drive or something!
Lulu, I've had mine for the best part of a year and it hasn't killed mine
EDIT: removed what I put as the spammers thread has now been removed
