Hello!

I'm new here! Nice to meet everybody :)

My name is Melissa and I am in my early 20s, I live in the uk.

So, my story goes a little like this:
I started university at 11st 3lbs and over the course of the 3 years I weighed everything from 9st 8lbs to 12st. I graduated this summer and have settled at 12st 5lbs. I do feel that a lot of the more recent weight gain is due to the stress of my final exams etc so I am hoping to get back on track and get down to 10st 7lbs at some point this year.

I am looking forward to the results, I know it's going to be tough but we'll get there!

:)

Hi Melissa, I'm new here also. My story is very similar to yours. Before college I was 9st, and due to poor food choices, lack of exercise and too much partying..I piled on the pounds. I'm just finished college, 23 and starting a graduate job. I've been dieting over the summer and have lost a stone. Now 11st 13, I'm really hoping to loose weight too.
It's not an easy journey but hopefully we can do this.
Ruby xx

Hi Melissa and welcome on board. You mentioned that over the course of the 3 years you weighed everything from 9st 8lbs to 12st. What makes you feeling that a lot of the more recent weight gain is due to the stress of your final exams? Was that the case with the other examination sessions too?

I didn't gain weight with my other exams because the rest of my life was going smoothly- however, my final exams and dissertation came at a point were my mum was in hospital, I was in the middle of a complaint process for a member of staff who had harassed me, my boyfriend had just moved 500 miles away for work ( we how now however just moved in together and the stress of a long distance relationship and its all fine- but at the time it felt like it was more or less over- I couldn't imagine moving too)... I basically went from happy to miserable in a few months.

Now that uni is finished I feel happier in myself and I am ready to try and get into shape again :)

Its nice to meet everyone!

Glad you feel better and happier now and you want to get into shape again. I can see now what did that "etc." you mentioned in your first post was about. It was not actually a nice time. We are all here for encouragement, and wish you good luck! I'll be in touch.
