New to all of this...

I recently just joined slimming world as i decided that i need to do something about my weight as it is beginning to get out of control and i am loosing my confidence because of this. But i am happy that i noticed this before i got any worse. I was just scrolling through the internet tonight and stumbled across this forum. Its great as everyone is in the same boat and everyone is trying to loose weight. I have always found it quite difficult to maintain a healthy life style as i tend to follow everyone else (none of them have a problem with their weight and can eat as much as they want and it will have no effect on them.) and i find it difficult to tell them how hard it is because they have never had a battle of food, but this site is great as everyone is very friendly and understanding.

If any one has any hints or tips to help me on the way it will be greatly appreciated :).
 
I'm very new too but feel that I've been here years. People are so welcoming and full of helpful advice. I know what you mean I have friends who can eat whatever they want and stay as slim as a pencil. I only have to look at a cream cake and it sticks straight on my hips. I got a lot of tips and encouragement from reading diaries and blogs. The very best of luck to you
 
I'm really new too (yesterday haha) and still finding my way around. Slimming World for me too! I used to be that person who could eat whatever I wanted...then I hit my mid-twenties and my body stopped being so forgiving! Argh!
Are you going to group, doing it online or at home?
 
I go to a group on a thursday evening, what about yourself? and it was yesterday that i joined too
 
I joined online a few months back, got all the books and info and read sooooo much on the website. My subscription has lapsed now and I can't really afford to renew so I'm doing it from home. I've decided if I struggle to keep the momentum up I'll go to a group! Are you enjoying the plan at the mo or finding it a struggle? I'm still in the 'oooh-everything's-new-and-tasty-and-a-novelty' phase!
 
yeah enjoying it at the moment, just went out and bought myself some healthy snacks that i can nibble away on if i am feeling peckish, found a syn free recepie for risotto that i am going to make tonight, it looks really tasty, going to have a look through tonight as well for meals for the rest of the week, there is so many different things to choose from!! its great.
 
Yeah some of the recipes are really lovely and you don't feel like you're missing out :)
I've discovered that planning ahead is a big thing for me too, if there isn't anything appetising in the fridge I fall off the wagon very quickly! Hope you're still enjoying it :)
