Flapjacks

Just posting wondering if anyone has the flapjack bars and doesn't think they're too bad as most people's opinions seem to be that they're vile.
Honestly the majority of my first week I have been so depressed and just can't wait to try these so called flapjacks.. even if they are like chewing cardboard just something other than liquid to cheer me up a bit.
I feel so pathetic that food seems like the only thing that would cheer me up right now. I've managed to stick to the diet 100% and it's the last day of my first week. So if I can do a week I can do another... hopefully

Long story short.. has anyone had the flapjack bars and doesn't think they're too bad? and do they even remotely taste like peanut or coconut?

Okay sack that I tried my first one today and I can only describe it's taste as the smell of cat or dog food.. I don't know what the heck it's made of but damn they're bad

They are an acquired taste:D

I have grown to like them over time...peanut one is the nicest.

Hi hazelr, is it your first time doing Lipotrim? I've just purchased the stakes for the first time ever and plan to start tomorrow. Do you have any advice for getting through the first week? xx

hey mini :)
definitely an acquired taste you're right there! haha

Hey there candice!
Yes this is my first time on the lipotrim shakes :)
Good luck for tomorrow then and I do have advice I posted some advice in a separate thread here - http://www.minimins.com/lipotrim-forum/347613-idea-shakes-if-youre-struggling.html
it's basically what I have adapted to doing after struggling the first week.
I do recommend trying to stay away from anyone eating tempting foods and at dinner times try not to go anywhere like canteens. I became a bit of a recluse the first week just to keep my mind focused on why I was doing the shakes. By the third day I was in tears and wanted to give up but I just tried to keep a mind frame of why I am doing this and that the moods and the hunger pains are worth it.
It has mellowed out a lot this second week I'm currently on week 2 day 4 and am finding my lust for food a lot calmer now and when unhealthy tempting foods pop into my head I kick myself (mentally) and realise I'm not doing these shakes for nothing.

Remember the number one goal is to lose weight and that whilst on these shakes food is the enemy.

Thank you I feel like I'll need as much luck as I can get! I'm a little bit scared tbh. I think I'll just have to keep my head down and power through by the sounds of things. The only person I'm worried about being round is my fiancé as we live together and he can eat whatever he likes really. I'll just see how it goes but that's why I joined on here to get/give as much support as possible! Let me know how you get on. Have you had your first weigh in btw? I think that's what will be driving me- the results on the scales and fittings into nicer clothes! x

Ah yes my partner can eat whatever also! He's on a normal healthy eating diet but damn salads look so good right now haha.
Yeah this forum is giving me will power to keep going just reading everyone's stories and seeing people's before and after pictures gives me the drive.. it's like we're all in this together. Don't be scared! I was a little nervous but realized there's not much to worry about.. just think at least we get shakes (not the tastiest but still palatable!) and they do give you a sense of being full up. If you struggle with plain water then fizzy water is alright (I used to hate it but now it's my best friend) and black coffee or green teas/earl grey with sweetener are fine to drink also - helps give your tastebuds a little bit more variety of flavour whilst you're dieting)
Yes I had my first weigh in last saturday and had lost 7lb so I went from 20stlb to 19st8lb and I have my next weigh in tomorrow ! I admit the weigh ins are spurring me on and I'm getting more excited the closer it gets :D

EDIT forgot to say, let me know how your first day goes! :)

Well today is my first day- I just wanted to enjoy my last weekend of freedom but I've had my first shake (which I spilt all over my car and then I had to make another one) lol. So yes it was palatable.. Kind of .. But hearing about your success and getting into the 19 stone bracket is my goal! So just motivates me to stick to it so I'll let you know how I get on today. I've heard so many bad things about the first few days that I think that's another reason why I procrastinated a bit which is silly really because today I'm back at work so probably picked the worst time to start! I've stocked up on both fizzy and still water but I wasn't sure what teas I was allowed so defo going to invest in some earl grey. How was your 2nd weigh in? 7lbs in your first weigh in is amazing! I hope that will be me on Saturday :) xx

Ahh good luck! Don't worry I've managed to throw a good couple of shakes all over the place you're not the only one XD I started my diet on my first day back at uni which I actually found helped because being busy took my mind off it a lot. Thankyou! My second weigh in I'd lost another 5lbs so nearly lost a full stone! I'm still unsure about teas but the chemist said earl grey and I love earl grey anyway so was relieved. Just get through this first week and after that you will find that the weeks go really fast. Keeping busy is key to this diet as it distracts you from the thought of food and from the feeling of hunger!
again good luck I hope your first day goes well :)

Haha thanks- I couldn't help think it was a sign not to start but I decided that was just me making a reason not to diet. I'm just on my way home from work now and I feel ok- I've drank about 2 litres of water and I don't think I feel hungry but I do feel like I want to eat a whole packet of chewing gum! Are we allowed mints and stuff? I have so many questions for my pharmacist when I get weighed! Work was definitely a distraction. The only thing I struggled with was the lumps in my shake- I made them hot to hide the fact I was doing a VLCD but I might just have to say it loud and proud and get the hand blender out. Do you struggle with the taste of the shakes etc?

Hey I was just reading ur post and I'd said I'd give u a few answers to ur question and think I kinda all there is to know about lipotrim at this stage.. U are not allow to have chewing gum or mints but u can get breath strips from the chemist also you can only use the original listerine and only use a toothpaste that doesn't contain sorbitol.
I also saw someone ask about earl grey u can have this also u can have green tea nettle tea, peppermint and Assam tea as long as they are in the pure format and don't have any flavouring to them, u can also drink sparkling water if u need a change from still water and one final thing be careful how much water u drink, u must have 2l of water but people can have too much water in the 3 to 4l range and can retain water, so u just have to find ur owe balance I found when I first started do lipotrim I was drinking 4l and retaining so I cut it down to 2 and it worked way better for me .
I hope everyone is getting on great .

Thanks buttercup27 that was really helpful. Do you know what type of breath strips (any particular brand)??. How long have you been doing Lipotrim for? x

Hi CandiceShakira, welcome into the Lipotrim House! No matter how tough the 1st week just be determined to get to first Weigh In and take it from there one week at a time. You'll be really pleased with the first week's weight loss and that will hopefully motivate you to stay on track.
Re: breath strips, NU PHAR is recommended.
All the best and remember, you can do this!

Thanks Trimlee- to be honest so far it's been ok but I'm only on day 2. I'm just going to try and make it to my first weigh in and go from there. Do you know if we can use breath freshener spray at all? And what brands are recommended?

Hi candice, no breath freshener sprays are allowed. Just stick to the strips if you can. I was also told to use only euthymol toothpaste (as other brands contain sugar) and original listerine mouthwash for the same reason. I find the easiest way to do this diet is to keep it simple and follow the rules to the absolute letter as you don't want to let something random affect weightloss, as this diet is so difficult without any added complications. Just my tuppence worth. Hope that helps :)

oh no:confused: I just use an aldi toothpaste.. will toothpaste seriously affect ketosis?

EDIT my chemist didn't really tell me much info about what I can and can't have when I started off.

If there's sugar in it, it can affect ketosis. You should be able to pick up euthymol in a good chemist. Or maybe your pharmacist could recommend some other lipo friendly toothpaste. As you are only taking in small amounts it shouldn't affect things too much anyway.

I actually really like the flapjacks, but I think more so for the fact that it's a 'food', rather than a shake.
I haven't had the peanut ones though, only the coconut. No, I wouldn't grab them if they were in a Starbucks and I was having a caramel coffee, but considering they're available on the diet, they're OK!

I didn't have them the first week I started Lipotrim, but now I'm on the second week I have one once per day.
I haven't ordered any next week as I would like to keep in my mind that they're a 'luxury' and so I will have them every other week.

They don't smell particularly great, but I find that they take a while to eat so you feel that you're 'snacking', rather than your shake is gone in a few minutes.
Cup of tea (no milk of course!) with a flapjack feels like a treat now!
:D

Grace x

Hmmm, I think I'll try them this week!
