2013: New Year, New Start: Kirsty's road to target!

Hi everyone and welcome to my food diary! I've had a lovely Xmas and New Year, but now that's out of the way, I'm determined to be 100% on plan every day and get to target ASAP!

A bit of background info:
I started my SW journey on 21st August 2012 with a starting weight of 13st 12lb. By 20th November 2012 (the WI before my birthday) I had managed to lose 2 stone!
However knowing I was over half way to my target, made me "relax" a little bit and it has resulted in me losing one week and gaining the next week ever since.
My first WI after Xmas (27th December 2012) I was at 12st 1lb. I have another WI tomorrow (3rd January 2013) and I'm expecting a gain.
My target weight? Well I keep changing my mind on that, as I'm worried about setting an unrealistic target that I won't be able to maintain. At the moment, I'm going for 11st as my target, meaning I have 1st 1lb to lose, plus anything I gain tomorrow.
My husband is also starting SW from today and together we plan to go running 3 times a week, as well as walking our dogs and swimming.
His starting weight is 13st, he's 5ft 9, giving him a BMI of 26.8. He has decided he wants to lose 12lb, taking him to a target weight of 12st 2lb, a BMI of 25.1. That's to start with, then he will decide how much more he wants to lose.

So from today I'm going to start a food diary and I want to you all to be honest and point out any errors I may make and advice is always gratefully received :)

So will update every evening :)

Feeling very achy today and craving chocolate! Turns out my TOTM has decided to turn up 24 hours before WI grrr!! :( I did consider having a Lindt ball (4 Syns) but decided against it as the way I'm feeling I'd eat the lot!! Hoping for a loss at WI, or I will be very annoyed and probably binge eat on chocolate!

Wednesday 9th January 2013

Ate very little as WI, lost 3lbs :D then had a SW chilli and Tilda Mexican bean rice (2.5 Syns) for dinner, then fall off the wagon and ate chocolate, Pringles, whatever I could get my hands on  damn TOTM, I just can't stop eating :(

Thursday 10th January 2013

Well I'm feeling very ill today, and I need food. Although its early still and I know I can be on plan I just can't see it happening as I need chocolate today!! Got up early (on my day off I must add!) to help hubby with getting his lunch together and feeling shocking. Going to raid my chocolate stash I think! Decided I will be be back on plan tomorrow, and as I have nothing planned for rest of week, should be able to get a loss next week- I really don't want to get back into the pattern of losing one week and gaining the next!
On another note, hubby lost 5lbs in his first week, so he's chuffed and finally believing in the plan!! X

Hi Hun,

Congratulations on the 3lbs loss this week!! I think it's wonderful that your OH is joining you on SW. I'm trying to get my Dad on plan, although i've sneakily been cooking his bacon/eggs/chips with frylight for a while;) …. If I mention it's a "Slimming World" meal, he instantly turns his nose up BEFORE trying lol!!

I'll be subscribing to your diary.xx

Lol that was my husband before he joined SW! When I read recipes and mention fat free fromage frias or natural yogurt he turns his nose up!
But he has seen how much I've lost and after one week is convinced! He said he enjoyed telling people about his weight loss whilst they were all complaining about putting on weight!!!
Thanks, I've already fallen off the wagon today but going to enjoy it and get back on plan tomorrow. I hate being a woman sometimes lol x

Keep going Hun am sure with all your exercise and if u watch your syns this week you will be fine. Good luck and I've enjoyed reading your menus x

Lol it must just be men!! I made some SW brownies and after eating them with no complaints, I told him they were "SW friendly" and the look of disgust on his face…. as if he was doing a bushtrucker trial haha!

Aww bless him. You have done really well, 2 stone is fantastic!!

I wouldn't worry about straying off plan for one night, I used to treat myself once a week after WI (not as much fun now i'm following from home lol)
Enjoy it hun and start tomorrow as a fresh day:)

P.S I love your "The Douwe Egberts Flavour Collective Coffee Appreciation Society" Lol.. I'm still yet to try it, but I just know i'll be joining! xx

I've always had a treat night after WI, it's just that this week it's extended into today as well lol. But I've eaten so much rubbish today that I'm not interested in eating any more for a while.
Lol I started that a bit of fun and its had so many people's attention :) I'm addicted to the stuff, I will admit that haha x

Pringles- once you pop you can't stop... So true ;(

Total Syns for the day: 4

Had a good first day back on plan after my little slip up yesterday *ahem*
Even though I should have eaten more Syns, I actually wasn't hungry after dinner.
Plus had a big row with hubby over SW because he thinks I 'preach' about it to him at every opportunity! I admit I do talk about it a lot and do nag him a bit, but its for his own good. He's the one that wants to lose weight cos he is unhappy with the amount he's put on, I've NEVER ever forced him to lose weight. I love him, regardless of his weight, and always will.
Thing was tonight, he was eating some biscuits, which are like 4.5 Syns EACH  and he told me earlier he'd had nothing else Syn wise all day, so that's fine. Only when he was eating the biscuits he mentioned some biscuits he'd eaten earlier! He doesn't know what they were, so he said allow 3 Syns each but they had choc on them so I'd be allowing 5 each. And that's how the row started!
I've told him I won't mention it anymore, I won't help him count his Syns, he can go putting the weight back on and don't come crying to me about it when he does! Grrr!
Such a bad mood now, good job there's no choc in the house (I kinda ate it all yesterday *hangs head in shame*)!

Made up with hubby ;) and he's realised I wasn't preaching, just stating facts. And he's yet to ask me to buy him beer so that's progress for him!
Looking forward to dinner tonight- going to make Enchiladas from a little recipe book I have. So yummy and as the tortilla wraps are 5.5 Syns each, I plan to have just one so I can have a bag of Velvet Crunch with my diet lemonade when we play Monopoly after dinner :)
