    Is slimming world the way forward for a binge eating sugarholic?

    Hi all

    About me..

    Im a 34 year old mum of two boys.

    I've been on many diets like most people namely sw, ww,cs and most recently cc. I find it so hard not to count the calories in things though.

    I am a big binge eater and have noticed that certain carbs like bread and crisps set me off on a binge so am seriously considering sw again. Also if I have chocolate it leads to more chocolate.

    Today I'm ashamed to say I had weetabix for breakfast
    A roll and wotsits for lunch
    Half a pack of maltesers, a twix and two yum yums. see what I mean about binge eating?? Its only half one. I seriously need to get out of the binge eating mindset. I don't even eat cos I'm hungry I don't know why I do it.

    I won't be going to group as I dont feel comfortable talking in front of groups if people so I'm going to try and do it on my own.

    I was thinking that as sw doesn't allow processed food within syn allowance I won't want or feel I need to binge.

    Ideally I'd like to lose 21 pounds by Xmas.

    Still binging still eating crap. Still trying to decide what diet to do sw or cc. Aggghhh fed up

    I'm a reformed sugaraholic or even foodaholic.

    Like you certain foods set me off.I wasn't hungry just ate for the sake of it.

    Could eat and eat and eat until I felt sick.Then would always say never again.But it did happen again.

    The only way I have stopped is to cut out all of those foods that triggered it.

    I can now occasionally have the odd slice of bread,piece of cake or packet of crisps but I can stop at just the one.

    I had a custard slice yesterday after not having one for months and didn't enjoy it so I know not to bother again.

    You need to reset your mind and question why your going to have X,Y or Z.

    Ask yourself some questions before eating it.Do I really need it,am I really hungry.

    Only you can decide which plan to follow but I would try and avoid one where those trigger foods are easily available.

    Thanks again cavegirl. Really helpful. I guess for me cc is the most manageable with two young children. I know bread is a big trigger food for me. I may try cutting that out and seeing how I go. Are you counting calories?

    No I eat Primal and only eat meat dishes,fish,veg,fruit and salad.

    Don't eat bread,cakes,biscuits,crisps etc unless I'm away and it comes with the meal.

    I was away last week and had wrap and chips at frankie and bennys.But that was it I don't get the cravings anymore for them.

    As you have 2 children I think it would help you if you put all their treats in a box and stop yourself from touching them.Or you have a treat box.

    I was talking to my lads last week about food and growing up.One is 28 the other 25.They said most of the time they only ate the cakes etc because I gave it to them or because it was there they ate it.

    I think I'm best not to buy anything. If I have stuff in the house i will eat it till its gone.

    What type of sauces do you have with your meals?do you use jars or cook from scratch?

    Hiya Lisa your title grabbed me as I am fastly coming to terms I am not just hugely obese I am a binge eater with no control over some foods, I have been going round in circles for months and months WW/SW/J+/CC/5:2 BUT AM REJOINING A TOTALLY new class tomorrow and going back to SW, ww and cc gives me too much free reign to eat and live on sandwiches and crisps and not changing the binging habits really ... I am going to do that too stop buying the junk foods my hubby has told me to for years but I insist I am fine but I am not at all, good luck in what you decide xx

    I cook from scratch.Not very exciting meals as I just see food as fuel.

    I'm going to give cc another go and say to myself this is the only diet I can do. Im going to weigh myself in a min and start from today. X
