    Cheese scones. Free on green.

I finally got around to making cheese scones. sw stylie! They were amazing, they had a real cheese and onion pasty quality to them. The family loved them too.

300g chive and onion cottage cheese
    Salt and pepper to season.
    2 eggs.
100g instant mash (dried powder form)
    Frylight.

Whizz the cottage cheese with a hand blender, season and whizz in the 2 eggs.
Stir in the instant mash powder to make a dough like consistency.
    Separate into balls and flatten.
Put in an oven tray and frylight for 20 mins.
    Voila!

Free on a green day. I'd encourage all green day fans to try these, it's a little gem of a recipe. It could easily be converted into a green day cheese and onion pie in an individual pot to serve with vege sausages and beans. Winter food!
These could be jazzed up with garlic, chilli or fresh herbs. It works well with plain cottage cheese and dried chives too.

My lovely consultant stopped me to tell me I must try these so I'm passing on the love. I'm always so amazed at what can be done with cottage cheese, before sw it was just a salad add on to me. Now it's a quiche, a scone etcetc lol.

    Cobbler, sounds good!

i make these and use them as a cobbler topping on on there own with homemade soup its just as nice as a lump of bread i also make the fruit scone which are nice for a treat as they do have syns...........

Low Syn Scones - Makes 8 - 3 syns each. 4oz self raising flour 18 syns, 1 tbsp splenda, 1tsp baking powder 1/2 syn, 11/2oz sultanas 6 syns. Enough Vanilla Mullerlight yoghurt to bind to a dough approx 1/2 pot. Mix dry ingredients together well. Add yoghurt & combine to a dough with as little mixing as possible. Divide mixture in half and roll into balls. Place well apart on a baking try lined with baking parchment. Flatten each ball to about 3/4" thick. Score each round deeply into quarters. Bake at gas mark 7 for approx 15 mins, or until golden & hollow sounding when tapped.

you have to try the cobbler its delicious, only thing I found all three times I made it is I loved it so much I could have eaten it again but an hour later I was full, very full, (I didn't have the second portion) what I am saying is that they are more filling than we first imagine

If you use them as cobbler, say for a stew, do you cook them first, or drop them into the stew to cook in there?
