Extra Easy: Cake Recipes

This is a SW Carrot cake. I got the recipe from Tracey on the MSE Forum. The whole cake is 5 syns.

SW carrot cake

Cake
125g quark
100g grated carrot
28g smash
9g sweetener
3 eggs
2 tbsp mincemeat
4 tsps. mixed spice
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp orange flavouring (I used orange flavoured water from Mr T baking section as couldn't find orange essence)

Topping
2 tbsp. sweetener
125g quark
1 tsp orange flavouring

Mix all the cake ingredients together. Spray a 7" dish with frylight and put the cake mixture in there and microwave on full power for about 8-10 minutes. Just keep checking, the cake shouldn't have any liquid left on the top and it should be springy to the touch. When cooked turn the cake out and cool on a cooling rack.

While the cake is cooling mix together the topping ingredients and keep in the fridge. When the cake is cool spread the topping on and cut into 5 slices. Each slice works out as 1 syn each.

I didn't think the orange flavour did anything for the cake and would leave out next time.

Just took one of these out of the microwave, looks good, will try and post a pic once I've put the 'icing' on the top. Only thing I'm not sure about is the mixed spice - I didn't have any so made my own concoction with allspice, ginger and cinnamon. Think the cloves in the allspice smell really strong!

here it is - just had a slice and it's not bad at all. As I suspected the allspice was a wrong choice, but def going to make again, minus the clove flavour! And this one will still get eaten. Great recipe, thank youx

uuummm defo trying this :)

Oh that looks yummy and I'm craving cake at mo. Will def give it a go!!

Scan Bran Cake - 9 syns if not using the scanbran as your HEX

5 Scanbran - HEXB or 5 syns

Mullerlight Yogurt ( any flavour)

2 eggs

sweetener(as much as required about 4 tbsps)

Sunmaid raisins (2 boxes - 2 syns per box)

Place scanbran in a bowl and pour boiling water over to soften, drain after a few seconds
Mash the scanbran and then add the 2 eggs, the yogurt and the sweetener I also add 2 boxes of sunmaid raisins

whisk together and pour into a plastic container ( the type you get from a takeaway) pop in the microwave for 8.5 minutes and remove then allow to cool

I cover mine with a mix of total yogurt and vanilla or mint extract and place in the fridge cut into slices of your choice. I have mine with fruit and/or a yogurt makes a nice brekki or a dessert for low syns
