SOME THINGS really make me mad.......

if you go to group, are there people that make you mad, or get up your nose? I do, just 1 woman, that started 2 weeks after me. I've been doing SW since May 24th...am chuffed am almost a stone down, but haven't even had 1 grape off plan, I've stuck to it religiously! This woman as I said started 2 weeks after me........does nothing but post (FB) how badly she's done, not stuck to plan and then starved herself the day before WI.......and loses 8lbs!!
The next week was the same, but this time, gin and lots of it came into her posts...and then last week, off plan, even more gin.......and she's already lost a stone!
Do I sound grumpy? yes I suppose I do............but how do people manage it? I certainly can't............from the PLODDER! X
:sigh:

Actually someone said exactly the same thing to me...I didn't know why she would lie...mind there's some odd folk about xx:confused:

yeh there was a guy in my group who constantly joked about how he never ever read the books and just ate what he 'thought' he should eat....he was losing loads of weight but kept saying about his huge meals *gahhh!*

don't let them get to you, as long as its coming off you its all good, and if they are starving themselves before WI that's not a healthy attitude and likely to result in them going off plan, or being miserable as sin for a day. Youre doing really well, and theres nothing wrong with plodding, slow and steady wins the race

There are a few strange ones at my group. I get really bored with sitting there listening to the same old stories about spending the weekend drinking heavily and eating kfc. Excuse after excuse. They are, like I once was, just kidding themselves. Friday someone said to me: "Oh but you do lots of exercise so its easy for you, I dont have the time to workout". Just plain ignorant! Argh and breathe. :D

I used to get really annoyed at my old group (stopped at CHristmas) because an older woman would come in and go on about all the cakes she had been eating at WI and church fairs and still lose weight. Really got my goat lol

i bet you last longer on this plan than she does! sounds like she is off plan already! and all that gin will catch up to her at some point :p

i was a bit shocked in a recent, a longish term member had brought her young daughter along because she had been complaining about her weight so her mum decided she needed to join SW, the girl was a mid-teen and couldnt be bigger than a size 10-12. i thought thats how to get your child an eating disorder :/ maybe i'm wrong, i just feel that she should have been teling her how beautiful she looked as she was instead of - yeah you need to join a slimming club. i suppose SW does teach you to eat a healthy balanced diet, i might be looking at this the wrong way - what do you guys think?

Grrrr I really annoys me when everyone sits there and has had 5 takeaways and 2 meals out and eaten popcorn when I've been teetotal eaten on plan everyday and taken grapes to the cinema and still they have lost 5lbs and I have lost 1 1/2!! If I have a week off plan I gain so why don't others!! (This weekend has been awful!)

As for taking a teenage daughter...unless a child is largely overweight then I don't really think they should go to sw. Just my opinion. But if just a couple of extra lbs they will prob lose that from parents being healthier. However I could be talking out of my derrière as I don't have children!

There are people like this in my group and it drives me crazy. Every week they preach about they've eaten 17 chineses and 24 pizzas and they still managed to lose 4 or 5lb just by having the book in the house. I went to a party and ate one slice of cake and stuck to the plan religiously the rest of the time and my loss was something like 1/2 lb that week.

I've just learned that I pay for my slips, so I think long and hard before I have them now.

Yup we had a girl this week that had a bottle of wine every night and still lost 3lb!
Guess her liver won't be happy though...

Just remember sometimes people who have a LOT to lose do shed it much more easily as their body uses more calories. Also if you've previously had a very unhealthy diet, you lose a lot in water and in the bowels emptying early on.

I don't go to a group I do SW from home, kind of glad! It would frustrate me too to hear others doing better than you when you're trying your absolute hardest to keep to the plan.. At least at home I can just concentrate on my progress as opposed to others :)

I have spoken to my colleague about this at work and she said- "Yea, but what must they have been eating before?"
She's got a point I think!
If before SW they were having mcdonalds for breakfast, pizza for lunch, chinese for dinner and 2 bottles of wine every night- then by cutting it down to chinese on a Friday, Pizza on a saturday and a bottle a night- they are going to lose weight aren't they.
Damn them.

There's a group of ladies at my group who are like this. They know each other from outside group and joined SW on the same evening. They are competitive between themselves and outdo each other with how "bad" they have been yet they all mostly make impressive losses week in and week out. It got on my goat the most when one of them won Miss Slinky. What she and the rest of her gang say promotes cheating and is quite upsetting to listen to for those of us who stick to SW, count our syns and only lose a pound or two a month. Not sulking, honest!!!

There are ladies in my group who admit they eat a lot of crap during the week, however they dont have big losses :p they lose nothing or just a pound or so here and there.. but they dont seem to care very much. In my group, I think its more of a social event for some of the longstanding members.

Crikey, I'd forgotten I started this thread waaaay back, I've had a giggle at the posts, sounds as if we all go to the same group! The thing is....the person I was talking about last July, is still doing the same thing, but she has now been there over a year...and still can't get her 2 stone award...and she has no one to blame but herself. I suppose I could be a bit smug now because I've lost 3.5 stones, but I've had to work at it. Still got a long way to go :sigh:
We DO have a laugh in our group, we have some very witty members, but it's always the same ones moaning, but they cheat every week. Been there, done that, lied to myself...daren't do it now though! x
