Sarah's Slimming World Diary!

Hi everyone,

I've been on this site for a while now. I previously lost roughly three stone but have put on about 1.5 of that since being a student.

I lost my weight through calorie counting but found I have lost my way with it after so many times starting again.

I tried Slimming World quite a long time ago and thought it was great, but I wasn't in the right frame of mind.

I've got all the info and I head back to uni tomorrow. I've already done an online food shop to be delivered tomorrow, so I am ready to start on Monday morning!

I know it'll take a while to get into it - pick up all the hints and tips that you get along the way!

But I feel VERY motivated this time and so want this to be the year I sort my weight out.

Will weigh in on Monday morning but have about 5 stone that I want to lose altogether.

Please say hello! :)

Hey Sarah!! Good luck with slimming world, I'm starting properly on Tuesday after my first class. Have been loosely following it since New Year's Day. Though I have never done it before, so don't know if I'm doing it right! I have about 5 and a half stone to lose!! Xx

SW is fab. I lost 9lb in my first week when i did it in 2011. Have been a WW girl but i need to be able to be more flexible and i hate pointing everything!
Best of luck to you both :)

Today is the day!

Slightly panicking this morning as I feel you need to be pretty prepared for SW and having only got my shopping last night, and only just moved back in, I'm not prepared at all!

Weighed myself - 16 stone 5lb. Not good.

For breakfast I have had natural yoghurt and a chopped up banana.

My last lecture finishes at 2 so I think I will wait til then for lunch - wont actually get a chance. So ill cook some pasta then. But in the future I'm going to have to be more organised - have lunch ready the night before.

Goodluck your already sounding positive!!
Must be hard doing it at uni but sounds like you'll do well :)
You weigh close to my weight so will see how ya doing and get some thinspiration from you ;) xx

I was in uni when i lost part of my weight a while ago, its difficult but doable :) I used to sneak fruit into the lecture theatres all the time, espeically when it was monday and i had 4 2 hours lectures with half an hour for lunch in between :p

It is hard! I was back at uni today and have already been asked to go out tonight twice. I have said no as I am not drinking and also saving money - it's difficult as most people accept this as everyone has money troubles! But, some people really push and make you feel boring if you don't!

I think the drinking is the main problem. It's not just the drinks but the food afterwards, the hangover food the next day and then the motivation is gone!

So, good start to the day I think!

Am going to make a plan for the week so I am more organised.

Popped into work today and will be basically fitting that in between every lecture I have. My job is at the uni and they have said I am allowed to po in, even for half an hour, to do filing etc so I can basically be out of the house from 9-5 each day with uni and work. This is good as it means I have a good structure. I can plan lunches to eat at work each day, where I have a kettle, microwave etc.

Have already been asked out by two separate people tonight but have said no! They want heavy nights and I want to not drink and to save money - even the nightclub entry and taxis cost a lot so more interested in saving money. Such a boring student!

I have a trip to Disneyland Paris at Easter which is going to be my main motivation. I had an incident at Alton Towers a few years ago where the restraint wouldn't go over my boobs - was so embarrassing and I want to be able to go on all the rides!

I really admire you trying to lose weight at Uni, and wish you every luck.

I was rubbish with food at Uni and in final year when i was too busy to properly exercise and plan meals, i got a job answering phones at dominos pizza which meant cheap and free pizza, and stupid hours so id eat a large pizza at 6am when i got in!! and i wondered why i put on weight!!

Remember to treat yourslef to a night out once in a while tho, just drink vodka and soda or soemthing, or youll feel like your missing out!!

Good luck xx

I've just written out my food for today and have realised I have got confused! It's fine as I have used it as a green day with a hexb of tuna. However, I got confused thinking pasta was a free food on both plans... silly me!

I am trying to plan for the week and think most days I will have veg and cottage cheese for breakfast - I really like cottage cheese and have a bit of a mushroom addiction so this is great for me!

For lunch, I'm thinking pasta and veg, maybe some quorn.

And maybe the same or similar for dinner, or a potato.

I am perfectly happy eating similar things all the time - that doesn't bother me - I don't always need different things!

However, this plan involves no syns at all and I think I should be having them. But what do I have?! No idea... I filled my cupboards and fridge with free foods and HEX food so not sure what to eat for syns?!

Well, I spent ages trying to plan this week's meals and was getting so confused! So, I went along to a class. Was going to try to do it all at home but was such a struggle and there was a class in an hour so thought it would be good to go, even if just to get the newest books!

Now understand EE a lot more and will follow that. Also, bought myself some hifi bars and the magazine and am going to look at some good recipes.

I was really nervous about telling my bf about it as I find it quite embarrassing. However, I tell him everything and don't see why it should be any different with this. He loves me as I am (ahhh bless!) and said of course he will support me in it, though he doesn't think I need to - not sure how he can say that?! Nice to know I have his support though and he said when he comes to stay we can go for a walk or swim etc, which is really sweet.

Though I can't really afford the £4.95 a week, I think it'll be worth it for the extra motivation of someone else weighing me!

Good for you for going! Extra easy what I've done this week and I don't feel restricted at all. Can understand why you find it embarrassing, I just hope my hubby doesn't view me like I do. Lol. But I bet now he knows it will be so much easier with his support! X

Been a good day today.

I walked to SW last night in my Reebok easy tones and my god do my legs ache today! Only about an hour of walking, but clearly worth it of I'm aching!

Had a PE lecture at 9am which I wasn't looking forward to but was actually fun! We did LOTS of lunges and my legs are even achier now! Them worked for a few hours and then another lecture.

Have been a bit peckish all day, but not drastically so - need to have some sort of plan for that!

Today's food:

B: yoghurt (free), banana (superfree), tbsp peanut butter (4.5)

S: banana (superfree)

L: pasta (free), passata (superfree), mushrooms (superfree), onion (superfree), 3x cheese triangles (3/5 of hex a)

S: rocky road hifi (1/2 hex b)

My plan for dinner is spaghetti hoops (free), sweet potato (free), 2 x cheese triangles (2/5 of hex a), mushrooms, onion, leeks & spinach (superfree). Maybe some mayo (1.5)

For pudding I'm going to try a frozen toffee muller light and later ill have my other hifi bar to complete my hex b.

Quite pleased with this!

Need to plan better for my lunches and dinner - I'm not good at remembering to take things out to defrost, so need to plan for the week!
