Overthinking Slimming World

I have seen so many posts recently where people seem to be over thinking the Slimming World extra easy plan. This isn't getting at anyone before I start getting shot down, merely a reference to posts I have seen over the last few days.
A few points

You don't have to worry about fruit intake

You don't have to worry about yoghurt intake

You don't have to ration bananas and grapes

You don't have to ration eggs

You can choose freely from the red and green free food lists, you don't have to think about combinations or having a third of each.

You don't have to measure or worry about portion sizes of anything as long as you don't eat until you are stuffed.

Carbohydrates are not bad for you. Bananas are not bad for you. Meat is not bad for you.

If you have to think too much about Extra Easy then it defeats the object of the plan. It's simple.

*gets off soap box now*

Ps I know some people bloat after carbs etc but I'm talking about the majority here.

I completely agree with you on these points,

I have a feeling my post may have contributed to you feeling the need to post this, I don't think you quite got my point (which to be fair was my fault I was wrong in what I stated originally and a lot of what I said applied to me personally). However, I do think this is a great thread, I also don't like when I see posts of people worrying about fruit or about having to have 1/3rd meat 1/3rd carbs and 1/3rd superfree ect.

One post was yours but I mean no disrespect!

It was one of many I have seen recently. There are so many things where people question what they should and shouldn't have and the whole extra easy thing becomes extra complicated!!

I just hope this post helps a few folk :)

Don't worry I wasn't saying it like that, I didn't take offence at all.

Like I said, I think its a great post and I hope it helps people as well (I'm sure it will) :)

Thank you for this post, I do tend to worry about these things. I'm quite new to SW, only been doing it 5 weeks and I definitely over think it. I don't know why because it's working so I should just get on with it but sometimes I still feel guilty for eating so much...I think I just find it hard to believe that I can eat all this nice food and lose weight but I can and I am! Clearly I was eating the wrong things before! Anyway just wanted to say thanks for the reassurance!

The problem with SW and EE in particular, is that it is almost too good to be true! Virtually no weighing and measuring and as much as you want as long as you remember that all important third ( a small price to pay I think ) so I can totally see why some people question it and worry. I know when EE first came out I kept ringing my consultant asking ''so I can have bacon and beans and pasta with the bolognaise'' etc etc but you have put this across well Jaylou.

Like we have all said before - trust the plan - it works xxx

Hi, I am totally worrying about how much I am eating, I am finding myself constantly thinking about food. I dont think it helped that i turned up late at the group and insisted that the counsellor let me join (only becuase if i had been sent away i wouldnt have returned, it took a lot for me to go in the first place) Anyway I didnt have a talk about the plan and was told everything i needed to know was in the books, no fault of the counsellor as I said earlier. So I am hoping for a loss this week and will go early to the class this week to talk through my worries and concerns.

Whats the average weight loss on SW per month?

Good luck to you all.

Of course. Maybe I should be more precise.

You don't have to worry about yogurt intake when choosing from those which are on the free food list.

The plan is all in your book but you will find a lot of info on here, there's a sticky thread above these threads that explains slimming world plans, if you take a look? Might make things more clear for you.

For now, all the free foods in the book you can eat, always fill your plate with 1/3 superfree (again there is a page that has a list of super free fruits and superfree veg) choose 1 healthy extra A and one healthy extra B. And your syns aim for about 10 a day but depending on how much you have to lose, if its a lot then go for the 15 :)

You should be looking to lose 1-2lb a week with this plan, and your first couple of weeks you will probably lose more but if not, don't worry we're all different.

Thanks hun, think its all alien to me at the moment because I previously did lighter life so no thought given to any kind of food! I have read loads already but thanks for the recommendation on the thread, I'm sure it will all become clear in time.

I know the weight will come off slower this time but I am hopeful that it means it will stay off this time xx

Hiya - I agree with the sentiment that if the C hadn't allowed you to stay, you might not have returned. . However, go for your 2nd group but treat it as your 1st. . Ask your C if he/she would give you the 'new-starters spiel'.

Brilliantly put. This plan is Extra Easy folks :)

But I think it is very difficult to believe it works when you first start!

All I can add is..... TRUST THE PLAN
