    Success express confusion!

    After a huge holiday gain I've got to lose half a mountain to get back to target range for next week. I've always found success express confusing and here is an example:

    Amoy straight to wok noodles are 1 syn on ee/green but 10 on red.

    If I add 2/3rds superfree to my noodle soup then are they 1 syn or 10 on success express?

    Noodles are a free food when dried on extra easy so I presume they continue to be 1 syn?!

    So if the food contains a 'free' element on extra easy you take the ee syns? If it doesn't contain a free food you take the higher syns?

    I think you're right, anything that's not the 2/3 superfree on your plate has to be counted at the higher syn value if it has a syn value (and isn't a healthy extra). You could use dry noodles instead of the straight to wok ones and then it'd all be syn free as long they weren't more than 1/3 of your plate?

    My understanding is that at meals you need to have 1/3 things that are free on any plan, so surely they wouldn't need to be synned and you could take the syn value as the EE value. But at snack times you would need to syn them as the highest value, because essentially it's breaking the rule about snacks being 100% superfree? That's how I do it anyway!
    Sept (week 1): -2lb. Oct: -6lb. Nov: -6lb. Dec: -1lb. Jan: -5.5lb. Feb: -2.5lb. March: -2.5lb. April so far: -3lb

    AIMS:

    Into the 12s
    Regain my 0.5 stone award
    Regain my 1 stone award
    Don't gain more than 3lb at Christmas (Only 1.5lb gained!)
    Into the 11s for good!
    Halfway to healthy BMI (11st12)
    Club 10
    1.5st gone
    Lose weight on holiday (Lost 0.5lb by climbing a load of mountains to make up for all the wine, phew!)
    Half a stone to go to healthy BMI
    2st gone phew finally!
    Into the 10s next week!
    Healthy BMI (10st10) soon, but definitely before I go to Spain in June!

    When you're doing Success Express anything with a syn value should be synned at the higher value, so with your noodles if it's 1 on green & ee and 10 on red you have to count the 10 syns as this is the higher value.

    For Success Express you need 1/3rd free & 2/3rds superfree and synning anything else at the higher value.

    But if you had pasta for your 1/3 free, that has syns on red, but you don't count those, right?

    Got it now - and to be honest if I'm doing success express it's to speed up my loss and as I can only snack on free foods I'm unlikely to need 15 syns on thing I would add to meals anyway!
