    Superfree foods

I am struggling to fill my plate with superfree foods mainly at lunch time as I have gone off salad. I have veg in the evening so thats ok but when I have lunch which could be supernoodles I don't have any superfree. Are baked beans superfree as I could have them with an omelette?

Baked beans aren't SUPERFREE but how about stuffing your omelette with some veg? Maybe onion, mixed peppers, mushrooms and the like?
You could add these veg to the noodles too.

If ur havin supernoodles for lunch and dont want to add veg in why not eat a couple pieces of fruit First.
Then if u only need half the supernoodles before u feel full ur not missin out on ur superfree

I do this if im havin a mugshot for lunch.

When you say you have gone off salad, do you just mean the traditional lettuce, tomato, cucumber, etc.? Because you can use almost any vegetable as a salad.

One of my favourites at the moment is finely sliced button mushrooms with finely sliced fennel. Has to be wafer thin slices, or it doesn't really work.

I'm struggling a bit with the super free. Getting there though. Trying to think outside the box and adding fruit to my curry and having gammon and pineapple etc.

my consultant said on Tuesday when I joined that you don't need to eat fruit and veg as part of extra easy. I was thinking that can't be right surely?

No that's not right. It's an essential part of the plan!! Maybe they meant you could focus on one or t'other?

What about making a curry or a bolognese the night before packing it with veg and taking leftovers for lunch? The veg will be within the meal rather than you worrying about it being on the side of your plate.

Pasta filled with mushrooms, peppers, onions, etc

Chicken pizza - cut the chicken breast in half to make a butterfly shape top with tomato puree and then fill with topping of your choice, ham, pineapple, mushrooms, onions, peppers, sweetcorn cook for 20 mins then add grated healthy extra cheese over and place back in the oven until cheese melts.

Unless the consultant meant you don't need to have both fruit and veg but could have one or the other then this is very wrong! The 1/3 Superfree is essential for EE and recommended on the Red and Green plans too. However, SW does recognise that there are some meals when Superfree just doesn't fit, so if you fancy egg and chips or fish, chips and mushy peas then have them! Also, if you meal contains HExs then you don't have to add Superfree because the HEx are measured giving an inbuilt control.

If you are cooking the fruit you add to your curry or grilling the pineapple, and/or using tinned fruit, then technically it should be Synned. I put loads of veg into a curry - finely chopped onion, carrot and celery * are the base of many a meal and is barely noticeable! - and I would add Frylighted mushrooms, tomatoes and onion rings to my gammon.

*(To save time, you can buy bags of frozen ready chopped veg - they're often labeled as bolognese mix or similar)

Nope, he made a massive point of how he doesn't eat fruit or veg and we don't have to either!

SW would be appalled as this does not chime with their healthy eating message! I'm sure you've seen the news these week that we should be eating more than 5 portions of fruit and veg daily and that the veg portions should be greater than the fruit.
