First red day can someone check it's ok pls?

Hi there our consultant said to stir things up a bit this week and most of us are trying red and green days. I find green days really easy but really struggling what to do for red so here is my menu. ....

Breakfast - yoghurt and a banana
Lunch - funky fish salmon with chilli sauce 4.5 syns with salad
Dinner - pulled pork in 2 healthy b wraps (bb) with cheese (a) salad and butter nut squash chips.

    Snacks will be fruit.

I am finding so much less choice on red days? X

I never used to get on with red days when I first did SW years ago but I like them a lot more now (mostly because I'm not a student anymore so can afford meat).

I'm having a red day today (and aiming for syn free after a bad day yesterday), and this is what I intend to eat:

    Breakfast - 2xWeetabix and 250ml milk
Lunch - 2 slices toasted Nimble, poached eggs, bacon and mushrooms
Dinner - Cajun chicken, baby sweetcorn, mushrooms in a lettuce leaf "wrap" with 40g lighter cheddar

Then fruit and Müller light for snacks.

On red days I tend to pick a nice meat (maybe a decent steak) and just pile on the superfree veg to fill me up without the potatoes. A lunch I like is poached salmon with the M&S ham and egg salad pack. "Fry ups" are also good on red days if you avoid the beans.

Also, you are able to have a small portion of things like potato as a healthy extra so you can always build that in and it'll feel like you're doing an extra easy day (as long as you weigh of course!).

I used to do red days & wonder what I could eat, I was always sooooooooooo hungry, but now I have them & like you have bns, I also have roasted swede, carrots and bulk my meal out with veggies. I had a red day yesterday, for lunch I had roasted bns, onions, courgettes done with garlic stir fry & added moroccan seasoning, then added cheese, hexa & cashew nuts hexb, it was delicious.

Yeah I find changing my days around during the week much essier as you can adapt to what's on offer around you and what you're doing much more! Also I'd get bored if I only stuck to one type, plus I love having extra healthy extras

    Hi,
Hope you don't mind me posting here. Our third baby is 3 months old now and I am really struggling this time to loose the weight. I was doing green days for the past few weeks but almost nothing is coming off. So from today I'm going to do a few weeks of red days to see if it helps. We have a wedding in a few weeks do I'd like to be down the guts of 7Lb...

This morning for breakfast I had:

    Bacon - fat removed
    Breakfast mushrooms
    Fried Egg
    Onions
    142g baked beans (HEB)
    Tomato
I used frylite for the tomato, egg and mushrooms so I'm assuming 2 syns??

    I have dinner planned

Rib roast - with the fat cut off
198g steamed rooster potato skins left on(HEB)
    Peas 28g 1 syn
    Carrots
    Broccoli
    Cauliflour
Gravy - made with fat 142ml 7 syns - I will be making this with bisto powder, does this make any difference to the syn value?

The rest of the day will be fruit or if I get hungry I'll have a bit of a salad.

Do you think that doing a few red days and ten going back to green would help or should I stick to doing red for a few weeks?

    Hi BennyB,

Food looks really good there, not sure of syns with Bisto but there are no syns for Frylight if you spray it rather than pour.

When I did SW years ago extra easy was only just being introduced so most people did red and green, the ones with the biggest losses did seem to be the ones on red (although both should work). It does depend on your body though. Also I think one is more likely to overeat the pasta/rice/potatoes (certainly in my case) than the meat because packets of meat already have portions inbuilt into them.

I'd say to stick with red as long as you want, or mix it in with some green days here and there, and see how it affects your losses. Even adding two red days a week might be enough to shart things moving again!

If It is easier you can have a teeny tiny tin of baked beans 150g as that is the hex b amount.

Fish is a good choice to have and it is nice with celeriac and broccoli/cauliflower with a cheese sauce using low low as your hex a.

I don't eat meat but I sometimes do red days using fish instead

Was thinking of having fajitas. I was going to syn the seasoning from the Aldi fiesta dinner pack at about 5 syns for the entire sachet. I don't really like the wraps so I was wondering does anyone know of a low syn way of bulking out the dinner?
