    Anyone on ee with PCOS?

    Hi all

Been following sw since April, managed to get to 3stone award but over the past month or so my losses are up and down even when I stick to plan 100%

Iv got some advice on doing this plan with having pcos aswell, apparently I need to take into account the glycemic level of foods I eat

Does anyone else need to do this? I don't want to switch away from extra easy as I love doing this plan and it has been working for me until recently, from what iv looked up I think my main areas are potatoes coffee and jasmine rice, if I switch back to long grain rice which is meant to be low glycemic and cutting out coffee as I can live without and avoiding potatoes where possible, I can also live without potatoes if I can eat pasta and rice anyone else have any tips for what to avoid?

Hi I have pcos and I'm the same at the moment. A few weeks ago I gained 2, then lost 6, then gained too again. I've had 3 weeks of losses now but this week before I've gone to weigh in I've gained like 5lb! I was told that I should avoid carbs with pcos so I did red days and had no bread, potatoes, rice etc but those were the weeks I gained the 2lbs! I just don't get my body at the min :/ xx

Wat I have learned gem is that with pcos u have to be careful with te glycemic levels of foods, the only carb that is high is potatoes and jasmine rice , there probably are a few others, pasta is more medium, when ur eating high glycemic foods you have to include foods that are low glycemic to bring down the overall gi rating of the meal, google some info and should help u

hi, I have pcos :-( I've found that totally cutting out bread, pasta, cakes etc is the only thing that works for me. ..I did slimming world for a while but unless I stayed totally syn free it just didn't work for me :'( I also find that lots of water makes a big difference. ..I aim for about 3 litres a day which seemed a lot to start with but I now manage no problems :-)

    Hello

I have PCOS and mostly follow ee - I have at least one red day and one green day a week which seems to help my body not get stuck which I have done in the past and just changes things up a bit but I have blips and months that haven't been as good as others. I find it easier to stick to ee though so rather than switch over to red/green entirely I am doing this as I have failed at so many diets so I need it to be something that isn't really restrictive and that is easy which extra easy is. So that might be something you could try rather than a complete switch?

Another thing I try and do though is when I am having potatoes/pasta etc I have the portion you would be allowed as a heb on red to stop me going overboard so that helps I think too.

Yes carbs are deffinately an issue with pcos, deffinately read up on glycemic indexing, it can really help, this week I am trying to concentrate on cutting out potatoes which are high glycemic, switched to decaf as caffeine is highly glycemic so also cutting out diet soft drinks as they have caffeine (u can get diet caffeine free though) and iv found that Thai jasmin rice is highly glycemic but basmati and long grain is better I'm going to see how I get on by making them changes

I hope that helps you hun. I actually avoid two of those things anyway as the smell of jasmine is a migraine trigger for me as is caffeine and I do limit potatoes so hopefully can carry on with ee despite the PCOS.

Some research I did a long time back on headaches and migraines, there's no medical reports that link headaches or migraines to pcos sufferers but a majority of women who have pcos suffer with them, I have a headache everyday on and off, very rarely it will get very intense like a migraine, I think iv only ever had 3 in my life x
