Hi there my name is Jamie, basically it all started 8 years ago when I got diagnosed with paranoia, agrophobia and chronic anxiety. I couldn't leave my bedroom at all and I had no exersize at all. All I ever did was eat, panic and sleep. I was around 18 stone. But since that I've starting getting out a little with help of my medications. But my weight still continues to creep on me. But my biggest fear is getting out of breath. I am 6'5 in height and now weigh a little Over 30 stone. I really need help and diet plans and general motivation. Where can I get the best help from as I'm scared if I carry on the way I'm going I will die. Please help. Thankyou for reading.

Welcome Jamie:welcome2:

I know it is not easing making the first post here here but that is another step in the right direction on your road to recovery.

Before you start exercise if you have not been doing any previously it would make good sense to get the okay from your doctor and he will probably recommend swimming and walking to start with as they are easy on the joints and will help get you fit and you can do both at your own pace which is important...forget about those television programmes where you see someone busting a gut...that is just for television and their ratings!

As you have never dieted before I think it would be worth considering having a look at Slimming World as it teaches you how to feed your body with good healthy filling food and not feel hungry. Slimming World run class each week in most areas where you meet other people who are on the same journey losing weight...if you phoned up your local Slimming World consultant she would be happy to talk to you on the phone about it. Also, there is a referral scheme your doctor might be one of those who are taking part in and if so...you get the first 12 weeks free. Print off the information sheet and bring it to your doctor and see if they are doing it. What is Slimming World on Referral?

On the Slimming World programme you could easily lose a stone or two in the first month due to your height and weight as well of the added advantage of being a man as men in general lose more quickly than women. If the idea of going to class is just too much you can also do it online and they will send you out the books you need.

Have a look at the Slimming World forum and sub-forums here as and see what you think...if you have any questions let me know and if I can't answer them I am hopeful some of our members will help out.:)
