    The Truth about Muller Light's?!?!?

So, I came across a thread on here (probably an old one, I'm a newbie so been browsing!) re Muller Light yoghurts and how bad they actually are, compared to the HUGE amount of threads I've read, that actually claim them to be a SWorlder's life saver!

Are they okay or are they actually just full of sugar, as I have now incorporated them into my breakfast routine?

    Thanks guys x x

I think its up to you if you want to incorporate sw staples that are dubious. .. whether that's muller or mugshot

There are so many syn free yoghurts available! ! Try some and see how your body responds

If you want yo reduce sweetener consumption give greek a try or some of the gorgeous low syn layered yogs

It's all trial and error! I'm certainly not a food purist lol

If all you ate was muller yogs then I'd imagine they'd be bad for you (as would other SW staples like mugshots, low fat supernoodles etc) but I think its still best to use them as a top up.
The plan (or EE that I follow) still states that superfree fruit and veg should be your first choice for snacks and then have something free if you need it.
I generally have a free yog if I want something sweet or something that feels a little indulgent.

I've been having one.every other day, as my B/fast, with a few chopped strawberries & blueberries, is this okay??

And not the fancy or Greek ones, as I can't stand Greek yoghurt! X

What exactly is it you are concerned about? They don't have added white sugar if that's it, just naturally occurring sugar found in fruit and milk xx

In my opinion I love them, the normal muller light and the Greek style as well but everyone is different. If you look at the nutritional values you would see they are quite low in calories and no added sugar just the sugars from the fruit and that. If your not satisfied with this try the weight watchers ones, not sure if they are free but they are lower again in calories. I would have one either after breakfast or lunch most days. Sometimes as a treat with an Alpen light for a treat at night.

i cant see there being a problem unless u eat a large amount of them in one day.

I agree with everyone else. I don't see a problem with having a mullerlight everyday? So long as your not having the whole pack of 6 every day....

I was surprised to hear there is about 12g of sugar per pot, which is a lot. I've switched to alternative syn free yogurts with less sugar. Irish Diet Yogurt is currently my favourite. However, I agree with all above, I don't think it's a problem eating them as such. I think it's healthier for my body to eat a few sugary mullerlights and loose weight rather than stay the weight I am!

I love them but they don't agree with me. There is something in ML which makes me want to binge after eating one. They also make me bloat out so I just avoid them altogether. I usually have ff greek yogurt (morrisons NUME is really nice) either with a sachet of aldi low cal hot choc mixed through or a tbs of honey. Both are really nice and at only 2 and half syns makes a lovley sweet treat. Sometimes I will add strawberries or some other berries.

They make me ill! For years I had them after lunch and always had a bad stomach which I just put down to my IBS, I then figured out it was the aspartame in muller lights / diet coke / etc. I now try to avoid anything with aspartame in if I can.

They're full of sweetener. I have about 2-3 a week. I much prefer a natural greek yoghurt with some frozen berries stirred through. I'm convinced that I only by ML at all because I'm on SW!!!

As for making you binge afterwards - that could be because your body has produced insulin to combat the sugar (that your brain thinks you're eating as its sweet) and it then has no sugar to work on so craves it so you give it some.
