Firstly thanks for all your threads and comments, you are inspirational!!!

This is my second Dukan attempt. I successfully lost 2 stone for my wedding last year and felt amazing. But this time, not so easy...

Im eating quite late this time round as I'm working shifts. Sometimes nine or ten o'clock. Should this be a problem?

Also I'm having a very low carb protein shake with milk for breakfast every morning. It's chocolate so gives me my fix. In every 30g scoop 3.9g of carbs of which 3.8g sugars. It only has sweetener in though (sucralose). Could this be slowing me down?

Only other thing could be rhubarb on my pc days. I always have it for dessert with sweetener and yoghurt on an evening. It does come from a tin with light syrup but I rinse it first?

I have a busy job and do at least two high impact exercise classes a week.

Your advice is greatly appreciated. I'm reading my book again to keep my spirits up. One pound on today!?! Please help my bikini look good in July xx

Others may be able to respond about the protein drink that isn't allowed but if it were me I would definitely drop the tinned rhubarb! Good luck.

Hi there. Get fresh or frozen rhubarb. And definitely drop the protein shakes. The carb may slow your weight loss especially if you have it everyday. I would have something more substantial for breakfast like oat bran gallette, porridge, eggs etc. (most important meal of the day ;-) )

How much milk are you having with the protein shake?

Remember milk is limited in cruise and dairy has been the cause of many peoples stalls.

Its not an ideal thing to have. Did you have it last time round?

With rhubarb switch to fresh or frozen, you can stew it and freeze it in suitable size portions for ease of use.

I also get back at about 9 or 10 - it wasn't a problem last year at least (too early to tell this year.

Yes - very definately - 3.9 carbs in a 30gram scoop is 13% carbs - way too high for dukan.

Ditch the tinned rhubarb - even if you rinse it the rhubarb will have cooked in sugar and soaking up for months - about 25% of it is sugar after draining.

The forced Rhubarb season is just starting - a great time to buy up a supply to cook and freeze for the months ahead (prices will come down as the season continues).

Correct me if I'm wrong but sucralose is not allowed.

I work shifts and I eat after midnight sometimes.

It did not have an impact, as far as I'm concerned.

Best of luck to you.

Thank you my lovely's. The rhubarb is out!! I did have the protein shake last time but with water rather than skimmed milk. About 400ml of skimmed milk every morning. Perhaps this is the problem? I shall try with water as I'm not sure I can give it up. I will let you know how it goes! Thanks again xx

The milk part is the 'ok' part, couldnt you just drink a glass of milk instead!

Skimmed milk is unlimited on Attack!

Thats more than the 250ml milk allowance for cruise.
Could you make it with half milk and half water? If you cant sort an alternative.

Thanks Atropos.
In some old posts from a French site it was still not allowed... I'm old school.
I do need some updated info :)

It's understandable - it wasn't cleared for sale in the EU at the time the original book was published, and I think it took some for it to be checked out and "approved"

Old school here too ;). I must admit that I couldn't bear just having a drink for breakfast (now that I've got into eating breakfast again. "In my previous (aka "fat") life", I never bothered... just snacked when hungry!!

13% carbs is also a shame ;) If you like a "drink", why not make your breakfast Dukan porridge made with some skimmed milk and lots of water?

OK - here is the bad news

I did the sums, and one 30g scoop of protein mix + 400 ml of skimmed milk = 24.5 grams of sugar.

You are been drinking the equivalent of almost 6 teaspoons of sugar every morning.

This is why skimmed milk is strictly limited in cruise and protein mixes are not allowed.

I couldn't believe this when I seen it. So I had to check the bottle of milk. Im in shock that theres 5g sugar in only 100ml of skimmed milk! Learn something new every day lol!

Don't panic - most of it is lactose, which is digested easily, so is not as "fast acting" as glucose or sucrose.

But yes - we have to watch the milk intake (and the lactose level in skimmed milk is higher than whole milk)
