Hi there! The carrot n lentil soup is prob my favourite (I noticed MissK makes her's wif ham stock cubes - I usually use chicken but I must try it wif ham next time as it sounds like it'd b lovely! :)) I also like potato n leek, chicken & veg (or just veg) n roasted red pepper. I'm not overly keen on BNS soup but mayb I just didn't ave a good recipe 4 it - how do u make yer's? I was disappointed cos I ADORE BNS roasted etc.

I also got a recipe off MissK 4 her dahl loaf, it seems like a nice thing 2 ave along wif soup, altho I aven't had a chance 2 make it yet...

Hi there. Sorry not replied before but have been babysitting with no computer.

BNS & Carrot soup

1 medium butternut squash. About 800g. Take seeds out but leave skin on.
3 big carrots
1 medium onion.
1 litre of vegetable stock. I usually use veg oxo.
1 Knorr herb stock pot - optional
I always put pepper in it, but check salt later

Cut up bns in not too big pieces, and the carrot and onion,
Put stock in hot and simmer till all cooked. The blitz.

Sometimes I out in a 1/4 tsp chilli flakes in it to get a bit of a kick.

If you try, you could use less of each so not so much to waste if you don`t like. Thats what I did first time.

Good luck

Alli are you exclusively breastfeeding? Some women do not lose weight whilst feeding.. X

Alli are you exclusively breastfeeding? Some women do not lose weight whilst feeding.. X

Yeah I'm exclusively breastfeeding hun. I was lookin it up online actually n I did read sumthin bout yer body retainin an extra 5-6lb in order 4 it 2 sustain the breastfeeding so mayb that's wat it is. I kinda hope so cos then I'd not feel so disappointed wif myself :(
Outa interest how many HX's do u ave since yer breastfeeding? I'm not sure I'm doin it rite! x

aww don't be disappointed chick...you didn't gain so that's a massive plus!

you're body's still going through a change - have you thought about having the extra HE's that you're allowed?x

uck it's just frustratin not 2 b losin when I'm pretty much on plan. I kno when I was losin weight originally b4 getting 2 target I was able 2 ave a loss virtually every week even if it was only 0.5lb (despite avin the odd treat! :D). Admittedly I was able 2 do quite a bit of exercise then so mayb that's it or mayb as Fiona has suggested it is a breastfeeding thing - either way it won't do me any harm 2 try sum new recipes. I think I also need 2 find out properly wat the HX allowance shud b when breastfeeding in case I'm sabotaging myself by avin 2 many or sumthin...xx

Hi, congratulations on your baby. I haven't been following your journey but happened to click onto your thread. I hope you don't mind me posting but I didn't lose any weight whilst feeding either of my children sob. In regards to the healthy extras you get
Up to 2 months 3 extra
2-3 months 4 extra
4-6 months 3 extra (if starting to wean)
4-6months 4 extra (if breastmilk is babies only source of nutrition)
Over 6 months 1 (if weaning)
SW recommend 1-2 of these extras should be milk or cheese.
Good luck

looking at the HE's that you're allowed...do you think if you're not having enough, your body could be holding on to extra weight to get you through the feeds?
i know you might not feel hungry at times but if they recommend it, it could be something to do with the fact your body NEEDS the extra stuff cos you're feeding?

you should maybe try the extra's - even for a week and i know you wouldn't want to risk a gain but it might help too? x

Hey, sorry you feel bad a bout the STS. I am the same as other posters- I did not experience the breastfeeding weight loss that they talk about and in fact put on weigh when I was doing it the first time round! Definitely use all of your hex's as your body needs it plus it is easy to grab a cereal bar as a snack when you feel like you want choc or something. Also, lots of water- you need it when you are feeding and I helps with any water retention.

There is a thread for breastfeeding mums somewhere on minimins- maybe have a look, it might give you some ideas?

I still think you are doing fantastic though and hopefully you will be feeling even better when you can start exercising. I wish I enjoyed it as much as you seem to lol.

Thanx 4 the kind words n support ladies! :thankyou:

I think yer both rite tho, mayb I am putting 2 much pressure on myself 2 soon. Now that I'v had the HX info confirmed I don't feel so bad on that front. As 4 the exercise it's been such a big part of my life 4 so long I'm really missin it n will b glad 2 get back 2 it; espec horse riding as I miss it even more than pilates! I also think mayb I'm not drinkin enuf so I've decided 2 try 2 drink a pint of water (or sugar free squash more likely! :D) 4 every feed 2 c if that helps as well xx
