Hi janiemac
Do you have any of the books for SW? It is possible to do it on your own, but really I think you need the books to get your head around the plan. I saw on your other thread that you did WW, and it takes a bit of getting used to the SW way after doing WW.
Each day you have 15 syns. They don't advise saving them, but some people do "weekly syns" and just work off having 105 a week. I've never tried that though.
Extra Easy is the plan most people do, so if you're doing that on top of your syns you get:
1 Healthy Extra "A" - a dairy choice, which you have to measure out
1 Healthy Extra "B" - a cereal/grain/bread choice, again you have to measure
Your meals should be made up of 1/3 Superfree food - most fruit and veg comes under this. The point is that you fill up on these foods.
The rest of your meal can be Free foods (lean meat, pastas, potatoes, fish, beans etc), and your syns if you want to use them on things like sauce, oil etc
To get an idea of what is free, superfree, health extra etc, the book is your best bet. Even after 6 months I regularly look stuff up.
