Back again!
Bought a different brand of porridge to try this morning, porridge being a good healthy breakfast and all that. The instructions said put 70g (1 cup) porridge into a large bowl and add 175ml (2½) cups of milk, then microwave for 2-3 minutes So, I weighed out 70g porridge and then for some daft reason, rather than measure the milk in a jug, I used my measuring cups and added 2½ cups of milk, seemed a lot of milk, but I didn't really think about it (well it was first thing). After 5 minutes of zapping, the porridge was still really, really runny and I thought I'd better check the instructions and realised my mistake. All cups, I guess, aren't equal. My measuring cup is 250ml of liquid and I'd added 2½ of them, 625ml of milk instead of 175ml - ooops, no wonder it was runny Needless to say I couldn't eat it, too much milk, too rich and far to many calories.
I won't make that mistake again
