Hi, I've recently returned to the discover plan, as I need to lose some weight, and the discover plan worked so well for me when I was younger, so here I am again... Finding this forum has helped me no end already, so thought if I put down what Im eating each day it might help me even more. I use a tracker sheet that I've put together myself, but if Im making mistakes with the points etc then someone might be able to put me straight.

Main problem for me is I have ME, and as such am severely limited as to the amount of exercise I can (or cant) do. I spend most of the day sitting down or gently pottering around the house. I live with my daughter in law and 2 gorgeous little grandsons. My son is a live in chef who comes home on his days off. I rely on them for most things but Im helping my DIL with ww too, working at it together makes such a difference! She didnt believe that she could eat what she liked and still lose weight...so in ONE week I proved to her you can and you DO!

If anyone has any advice about using weight watchers whilst being ill I would love to hear it. I lost 2lb this week. WI is Monday morning. I am allowed 27 points a day and want to lose LOTS!!! no rush for me, as long as I lose SOMETHING each week Ill be happy, especially as Im not active.

Anyway... starting from Monday - Yesterday.

Breakfast -

2 slices danish toast & 2 tsp flora light - 2.5
1/2 tin WW spaghetti - 1.5
200mls OJ - 1.5

Lunch -

150g Jacket Spud - 1.5
100g prawns - 1
2 tsp flora light - 0.5
cocktail sauce - 1
salad - 0
Muller yoghurt & sugar free jelly - 1.5

Dinner -

Asda fresh chicken and mushroom tagliatelle - 7.5
no point veg - 0
banana - 1.5
muller yoghurt - 1.5

Snacks -
1 ryvita thin - 0.5
sour cream and chive dip - 1
low point minestrone soup (homemade) - 1
2 WW pitta breads - 3

total for the day - 27
 
Tuesday -

Planned my meals for today so I know what Im doing.

Gonna go for a short stroll later I hope, my DIL works in a nursery at the bottom of the road, so I try to walk down there when I can, gets me some fresh air and stops me going stir crazy...stir crazy = picking at food = NOT GOOD!!

I struggle with breakfast, but Ive been making myself eat it, and had a healthier version of a good old fry up this morning, it was lovely and im still feeling full up so should be good til about 1.30 before having lunch :D

Breakfast -

2 healthy options bacon medallions - no fat on - 1
2 pork chipolatas - 2
2 danish toast with a little flora light - 2.5
1/2 small tin of beans - 1
mushrooms - 0

I had an egg white omelette the other day, with lots of onion and mushroom in, so no points, bit of black pepper and it was really tasty! I could eat that with a jacket spud and salad for a very low point dinner :)

Lunch -

cucumber, spring onion, peppers - 0
salad cream - 1tblsp - 1
dinner -

birdseye breaded cod fillet - 5.5

Mid afternoon snack -

Asda vitality banoffee cereal bar - 1
(these bars are YUMMY and are in lots of different flavours, all at 1 point per bar, satisfies that sweet craving and keeps me going til dinner time! Banoffee and apple & raspberry ones are my faves!)

to get my points values I use my calculator and either go by whats already stored on it or (to be as exact as possible) go by each item's individual NI.

Ps sorry cant really help with your questions regarding your MS. I really dont know much about the condition sorry. Sure someone will come along who does.
 
Morning! Im feeling really good today, hurty back and knee but my son is home for 2 days so thats made me feel loads better! Not seeing him for a few days while he is at work, he notices the difference in me...which is a boost!! I love seeing him and his boys together, they have such an amazing bond...I want to be able to watch them grow up, so thats inspiration and motivation for me to continue to lose the weight. Im a young nana, Im 37, and the eldest grandson is 2, I was a young mum, and my son was a young dad, but neither of us would change anything! I'm rambling...but if I cant speak my mind on here, where can I??? It has to help right???

Anyway...On the menu today:

19/27 so far today and Im stuffed so will just wait and see if I fancy anything else later. Movie night tonight so might have some baked crisps or snackajacks....why?? because I CAN!! :D

Morning!

Had a good nights sleep fro a change, although I still feel like I could sleep for a week! Never mind, up and at 'em! Gonna go out for lunch today with my son, but will be careful cos Ive stayed on track this week and want that to continue. Ive worked out my days points and have got 16 I can have at lunchtime if I want...but Im gonna go for a warm salad I think so should keep the points fairly low. I dont get the chance to go out with my son very much so Im not gonna turn it down! Thats why I love WW so much, I can go out and not feel guilty.

Anyway todays meals:

Breakfast -

30g ricicles and 125ml milk - 3

Lunch -

Fine dining lunch, no pud! - (will add later)

Dinner -

Homemade spag bol sauce - 18pts for the whole thing so 4.5pts for 1/4 (will probably have less than 1/4 but overpointing a bit is good :) )
100g mac - 2.5
sprinkle ww cheese - 1

Im feeling pretty good this week, as long as I am positive in my mind, I can't go wrong...just have to make sure I dont beat myself up if I stay the same at wi on Monday...even staying the same is a result for me...mustnt forget that!

Lunch was lovely...tried to go careful and pick the best options, the portion sizes are really small as it was fine dining, but I came away feeling full, and didnt even get tempted to have a pud :party0049:. I had garlic mushrooms ( not breaded, just sauteed in garlic, with a few small cubes of brie and some salad leaves)
For main I had a small duck breast on some egg noodles and with an orange and soy sauce. I think that was a sensible option, I had allowed myself 15 points and I really dont think it was that high. Ill try and not have any snacks today to make sure.

to be honest though, I dont really mind as I got to have a really nice lunch with my son before he goes back to work tonight :( so it was worth any extra points!

Wrote yesterday off, felt like crap all day and Im sure I went over my points, but hey-ho, today is another day!

woke feeling a bit better, hurty back and fuzzy head but am ok. Off to the coast today, DIL loves to walk along the prom, pushing a double buggy helps her gain points lol...as for me....I cant walk that far so I use my scooter...hense the reason why its so bloody hard to shift my bulk, but at least Im out in the fresh air blowing the cobwebs away huh?

Going shopping later, read a lot about butternut squash...never tried it so today is the day lol.
Anyone got any ideas on how I cook it...would appreciate it, ty :)

Well I bought a butternut squash and roasted it with some courgettes...sprayed them with frylight and it was LUSH!!!

so for Dinner I had:

total of 14/27 for the day and Im stuffed!

Going to a birthday tea tomorrow so will have saved plenty to cover any treats I might have, although I will try and be sensible.

Gonna spend the evening crafting tonight...I make greetings cards, so gonna enjoy that tonight. Have a good one, whatever you are doing :)

Mornin world!

Was SOOO tempted to get on the scales this morning :confused:, I can physically tell I have lost inches, so even if I stay the same at wi tomorrow I will be happy as my clothes are getting baggy :cool:.

Going to a birthday tea today, but the hosts are a healthy bunch so shouldnt be too much bad stuff to tempt me. I had a lot less points than normal yesterday so Im not gonna go and spend all my time working out every point, but Ill stick to what I know is the best option and go from there.

On the menu today:

Breakky -

3 egg white omelette with sprinkle of cheese, 1/2 slice of ham, onion and mushroom - 1.5
2 ww toast with flora light - 1.5
half small tin of beans - 1.5

4.5 (worth every point cos it was scrummy!)

OH MY GOODNESS!! *does a lil dance* lost 4lb this week!!!! Had a really crap day on Friday and then the birthday tea yesterday turned out to be a bbq...but was as sensible as I could be. SOOOOOOOOOO pleased! I drop a point now as I got down to the next stone level...not weighted this for a few years I can tell ya! Goin to the beach with DIL and the boys today...happy happy happy!!

Morning!

Had a bit of a lie in today, actually feeling ok in myself for a change! Got a busy few days coming up, DIL is at the hospital tomorrow, my son is off work Thursday and Friday so we are taking the boys to a theme park on Thursday and having a bbq on Friday for a friends birthday. Gotta plan my meals in advance so I can save some points for Friday! Everyone loves my bbqs, I have to say I do a mean kebab! But as I do the cooking I dont normally tend to eat much of it so thats ok!

Anyway on the menu today:

Its official, I have the BEST DIL ever!!! bless ehr, she cooked my dinner tonight, while I was running errands for my son. She is doing discover with me, so I knew she would keep a track, but she made the most delicious cottage pie, using mashed bns instead of potato, with roasties, yorkie puddings, veg and gravy and all for........ just 8.5 points!!

It was so yummy, Im stuffed!
total today is 17/26 pts so I can have a treat later if I can fit anything else in!!

Saw my son today, who I havent seen since Friday, and he said he could see a difference...he was probably just being nice but it gave me a boost!

busy prepping for a family bbq today, so had a small brekkie so that I can have *what I want* for dinner...

Ive got lots of bns and courgette ready for roasting, some chicken breast kebabs with lots of peppers and onions, so I shouldnt be bothered about the sausages and burgers. Lots of salad, gonna be lovely :D
