Back for 2015 - 2st heavier than before!

Hello everyone

I did really well by this time last year - I was 4lb from my goal of 10st then Christmas came along, I gained a couple of pounds and then got back onto it in the New Year.

Then my middle-aged brother thoughtlessly and suddenly passed away in January 2014 and I thought "ah, sod it, we don't know what's around the corner - life's for living" and slowly but surely ate more, drank more and generally had a nice time doing so!

But now I am here with the largest waistline I have had in about 20 years, just today back to weighing and measuring.

As it is the first day of the new year, I re-started today and have a lovely WW Chicken Jalfrezi curry on the hob as we speak.

I really need to get this 2st off and I am hoping the tips and tricks I can pick up from you guys will help.

Good luck to all - hope to speak to you on a regular basis, especially as this forum went very quiet last time I used it.

Hello, I've just signed up for WW too, I've been on SW for a couple of years and lost 4 1/2 stone but I've achieved nothing for the last year apart from getting disillusioned and fed up with it all and as such have put on nearly a stone of what I lost. I've decided to give WW a try as I'm hoping something new might give me the enthusiasm to get to target rather than feeling it's just a slog!

I've noticed the WW forum on here is a lot quieter than SW one too, hopefully there'll be a few more of us newbies for the new year!

Hiya GedlingRed, I tried SW a couple of years ago and just kept gaining. I didn't go to a class so I think I must have been doing it wrong and over-eating.

I have tried so many diets: Dukan, Atkins, SW, Lean & Clean, WW, Intermittent fasting and I can honestly say that I have had the best success with WW. Problem is, like most diets, you have to persevere with the lifestyle change otherwise the weight will creep back on (or in my case, pile back on!). I first did WW about 20 years ago and I kept to a decent weight for well over 10 years.

Good luck with it, I hope you get on with it ok.

Hiya Cheekypasterfield, I remember your name from one of the forums I had previously subscribed to, can't remember if it was the SW or the WW one now. I am hoping that "talking diet" with other forum members will keep me on the straight and narrow as my husband is a terrible "feeder"!

Hello :)

My latest was SW from October to December 14. Did try WW earlier in 2014 but kept falling off the wagon.

I'll happily talk about diets all day long.

Poor hubby gets fed up of hearing it lol

Im lucky hubby isnt a feeder but my friend has trouble and I can appreciate how hard it is. I think the trick with someone who loves to feed is to try and show them you are eating and satisfied.

Well Claire (CheekyP), I can talk diet when I'm on one, when I am not on one and when I should be on one. If I put as much effort into dieting as I did talking about it my body shape would resemble a racing snake.

Hi again Sugarfairy. Agreed. I abandoned the forum last time because there was virtually no-one to talk to!

Is it wrong that I am very excited about the prospect of eating crumpets & Nutella for breakfast?! I haven't decided whether I'm going to follow F&H or propoints, I like the idea of F&H but I got fed up of having to plan everything with SW and feel F&H is too similar and I need something different so think I'm heading towards propoints at least for a little while.

Wrong nope! Amazing yep :) I need propoints for portion sizes, that's why it works for me best x

I really look forward to my crumpets, I tend to have them within an hour of my evening meal and the whole lot keeps me going all night. I have some frozen cherries in the freezer so tomorrow I'm going to make my own F&H cherry jam with a little Splenda. Can't wait!!

I agree Loopyluc, PP works best for me too but I am giving F&H a go during the transition from the Christmas over-eat, so that I can eat plenty and not feel deprived. I will probably stick to F&H this week and go back to PP next week.

I haven't tried the f&h... maybe I should give it a try, see what.its all about! Oooh cherry jam. Wish I was more organised!

PS I am not a great cook - this isn't proper jam, just defrosted cherries mashed with a bit of Splenda. Little effort involved....(I hope!).
