I think a lot of us have been the same because of the snow. No excuse though I suppose.... Good luck with getting back on that wagon,

My unofficial opinion (lol) is that your vit D3 levels are low - you have spent a lot of time indoors recently under artificial light .. Also winter is generally a time that there is a lack of sunlight soooo with that - perhaps a vit D3 supplement might help with things ?? Quite a lot of Nhs sites seem to be suggesting to take it during winter etc

I am taking rhodiola rosea for helping with things too

I've decided to detox with juices and go Raw food for a while . So feel pretty good this week.

Was back at the hospital today to get the results for Emily. All the tests came back clear for known horrible diseases which is great but still leaves her effectively a mystery. He described her as a computer. The hardware is working perfectly but she's had a software/virus malfunction in the brain. Basically she has to learn to live with it. The more she does the more normal things will become. The only downside will be if she gets ill or stressed at exam time. Then her body will fight the illness do she may we get worse again. As she couldn't cope with both at once. It's going to be more if a mental thing I think now. So I need to watch how she's feeling and coping.

It's going to be hard as she has to learn to live with it but hey ho. It's life so on we go.

I would never have considered raw foods until I started researching it. I've always liked juices but I didn't realise things like brownies with icing and banana cream pie could be made to satisfy the sweet tooth I've developed.

I'm not doing it fully just yet as I've not got everything in but in two days I've lost 1kg. My body is detoxing like mad and I'm finally pooing like you wouldn't believe! So those suffering with constipation might want to consider a couple if days of this. It certainly shifts the backlog once it gets going sorry tmi

Glad your feeling better, it sounds really interesting what your doing - i may look it up and have a read.

Poor Emily, she has been through so much and still no answer as to what it is - but thank god its no horrible disease.

The days slip by so fast! Had a good week. I've been dabbling with raw food and in liking it a lot. The flavours of your food are so much more intense . It's strange but even though sometimes ice gone periods of time being hungry because its not been convenient to eat, I've not had cravings. I can tell the difference between hunger and needing the sugar/carb rush because my insulin levels are balanced so its been great for that. I have eaten 'normal' hot food but not much and hardly any bread. But even when I've been busy I've not had to rush into the kitchen and stuff my face with food.
I've signed up to the Rawtarians 30 day plan starting on the 4th feb. I'm going to do the best I can and see what hapoens over the month.

The picture is raw brownie and its heaven and 'chicken' salad wraps

Wow I didn't realise it was three weeks since I posted!! I haven't been AWOL , I've been reading everyone else's goings on but just not felt the need to write anything down. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. I think it's beginning to signal that my journey to lose the weight is ending and the maintaining one is happening. Which is odd seeing as I'm technically still overweight but I don't feel it. The head thing is difficult though. Because I know I'm still overweight according to the charts but my body is saying ' ok stop here I'm alright now' accepting that is harder than the knowledge that I was obese and needed to lose weight.
So what am I going to do to maintain? Absolutely nothing different. I like how I eat, my body seems to as well so ill just keep on plodding on and if a few more pounds disappear then fantastic, and if not then that's great too. Ill just keep an eye on the scales and adjust my diet accordingly. Ill also stay on here because youve been great support over thd last / years And I've got some amazing friends from here.
Ill keep posting and commenting on your diaries and posts but probably very little in my diary, it's strange how it seems to have come to a natural end when I've accepted where I am . Do I'm not going to disappear , I don't think I could, it's just going to be different now.

Well done, Kat, you've done so brilliantly! Out of interest, how far outside of the "normal" BMI range are you? I ask because I've been feeling very similar to how you describe in your post - technically overweight but feeling in myself that I would be happy if no more came off. I'm proabably still about 1.5 stone overweight by BMI. xx

I'm going to be a way off the normal range when I get to target, to be normal I would need to be 10 stone, I think if you feel comfortable then you have to go with that, as you say you may lose a bit more but if not its no hardship x

Tracy I'm hovering between 29 and 30. The nurses that weigh me are happy with it bc they say they're wrong anyway which is telling. To get to 25 I need to be 10:7 and I can't see that happens v without looking hideous. I seem to be staying at 13:7 I'm 5ft7 and wear a size 14. That's why I'm happy. I think if they get tight ill be working on losing a bit more

Thanks Kat, that's really made me happy because our stats are almost identical. Like you say, much lower and I don't think I'd look brilliant - my bum has completely vanished as it is, lol. xx
