    Starting Atkins

    Hi all,
Hope you can help me. I've done Atkins before and lost weight many years ago- I'm back again and this time need to stick to it for longer to lose a lot of weight.
The only thing is I don't know what I'm scared of. At night I decide from the next morning I'm starting Atkins and then once I'm awake I want to have a full breakfast with loads of toast!
How did you guys get going? And when you crave carbs like crazy what do you do to overcome it??

Your help and support will be appreciated.

    Thanks

Best thing to do is plan everything. Get organised do a menu then a shopping trip. If it's time you need in the morning then egg and sausage or bacon muffins are great.

Thanks I think that's why I'm getting scared cos u wake up and end up eating whatever is there because I'm not planning what to have the next day.
I hate hate hate veg...I dunno how I will get them in my diet I gag with every mouthful. I like spinach but my stomach can't digest it and I get the worst side effects.
How much have u lost on Atkins?

Hmm if you hate veg you are going to have to start liking it. You need to eat lots of greens. Lettuce spinach cabbage etc are good. Why cant you digest spinach.

Your 20gcarbs should consist of 15g leafy veg so I think you are going to struggle with Atkins

I will say u can loose it on 8 grams a day green veg, I'm the same although I'll have kale chips and cucumber, avocado. I lost 2 & half stone on this diet, it's taken me 9 years to nearly put it back on. Have decided to go back in it as carrying a lot of extra weight around my stomach lately. I'm loving this again actually, the cheese & pork scratchings, babybel, eggs & frankfurters, gammon joints in the slow cooker with creamed mushrooms, delicious!!

cruciferous vegetables are well known to cause bloating in some people - have a look on google. It might be worth trying others that people are less sensitive to and/or just have more of those few things you do enjoy

The last time I started Atkins, I wrote out a food plan for the week so I knew what I was eating for each meal.

Ooooooh I started induction on Saturday and I've lost 6 lbs as of tonight! Lots of water I know but it was good to see the scales so low!! I found 5 bags of pork crunch in the 99p shop and have been having these instead of my usual crisps. Hope this is a little bit in inspiration! I also cooked the Iceland hot & spicy chicken wings which are 3.2 grams carb per half a bag, they taste absolutely gorgeous!! No veg at all today tho.... Not good but I actually forgot!!
