Anyone else read 'em?

My daughter got the first one for Christmas. She didn't start reading it until after seeing the film (three times) and talking about it all the time.

I decided to read the first book because I wondered what all the fuss was about. Then had to read the other three and am now waiting for the next installment :read:.

Jayne is reading them all again. I think she'd turn into a vampire tomorrow if offered the chance.;)

I watched the film the other night but prefer the book.

yay another twilighter. in the fan base you would be known as a twimum!!(twilight fan who is also a Mum. i knw its so sad that i knw that!)

we've been discussing the finer points of Twilight in the vamp novels thread.

i also prefer the books but think the film did a fairly good job when a lot of the book was Bella's thoughts & not much dialog, i think Stephenie Meyer comented that a whole chapter was about Edwards jaw line lol.

have you read all 4 books? do you think they'll be another installment? i thougt Breaking Dawn was the final book? i do knw that the author will soon be releasing 'Midnight Sun' which is basically Twilight from Edwards perspective can't wait for that :D

I think that that far from Breaking Dawn being the end of the series, it should be the beginning of another set of books covering Bella's adventures as a new vampire, and revisiting some of the new characters we were introduced to in the fourth book.

Sadly, I don't think that is going to happen any time soon because the author has been talking about moving onto other writing projects.

We'll just have to read them again!

Hi AJ, my 12 year old has read all the books, several times each! Her room is covered in Twilight posters, we have seen the film 3 times, we have the soundtrack, and all she talks about are vampires! She says she has TOD; Twilight Obsessive Disorder, an official term, apparently! My 8 year old is quite into them too! I think Edward is somewhat of a hunk! :D

Becky, have you read the books too? Does that make you a twimum?!:D My son managed to download a copy of the film onto my laptop (Swedish subtitles, fascinating) so I could watch it. I prefer the book though.

I was browsing around the internet and found the Stephanie Meyer official website. She is working on the fifth book at the moment, called Midnight Sun, and recently a rough draft was leaked onto the internet. She has decided to post it on her website for people to read if they want to.

Here is the link if anyone is interested...

It is the first part of Twilight but from Edward's perspective.

Enjoy!

I have yet to read them - have got all four. Have seen the film once and really liked it - hope its not too long til they make the next one - though I hope to have read the books by then.

i watched the movie and absolutely loved it!! will definitely read the books and buy the dvd!:)

I have just finished Breaking dawn:D

I really enjoyed them all, although the second book didn't grip me so much as the rest

I didn't even know there was a film on these books lol, I got them recommend to me from my team mate on here;)

My 17 yr old daughter just started reading Twilight and she can't put it down. I think I will have to read it when she is done to see what the fuss is all about, lol.

Hi all,

I LOOOOOOOOOVE Twilight!! :D

I have just finished reading the first book (but have all the rest) and have watched the film 5 times so far  :8855:

I am another one would be a Vampire as fast as you could click your fingers!!! :ashamed0005:

I can`t wait until Nov when the second film comes out :D

Btw, I am a 37 yr old mum of 4 so I guess that makes me a bit of a saddo  :8855:

But OMG Carlisle, James & Jasper are damn hot!!!!:gimi: Tho lately, Edward is becoming more appealing too ;)

I haven't read them..yet. But I'm looking forward to it. I was in a 2nd hand bookshop recently (I dont buy new if I can help it!!) and there was a young girl, about 17, working and talking to an older member of staff. She was going on and on about Twilight and how her younger sister LOVES these books. But while she was happy that her sis was reading, she wishes she'd lose the Twilight books because its just 'bad literature'!! I was livid! lol I hate that over generalising sweeping judgement of books. I haven't even read them but how can something so popular and loved worldwide be deemed 'bad literature'?? What the hell IS bad literature anyways??

I just thought 'pompous wee turd'. :D

Yeah I agree, Blackrose. I mean who decides what is 'bad' in literature or films come to that? I prefer to decide for myself. These book snobs don't know what they're missing:D.

p.s. I went to see 'Fast & Furious' with my son this weekend and enjoyed it, not much plot but lots of fast car action.

Exactly! I read for pleasure, for escapism. And if escaping to a world where a drop dead gorgeous vampire falls in love with me is possible with 'bad literature' then bring on the badness! lol

p.s. Fast & Furious -PMSL!! Ok, it seems I have lines to be drawn after all lol Saying that -I hated the thoughts of 'Family Guy' until my son got into it and now I love it so there's a convert in me yet. Maybe I'll watch fast & Furious and we can start an action film club! :D

Hmm, if you like vampire books dip into the set written by J R Ward (Black Dagger Brotherhood). It does help to read them in order. I didn't and initially found them confusing, however I stuck with the first one I read then quickly got the others from the library:D. I still haven't read the first one (waiting list at library).

Funny you should mention Family Guy. My son (14) watches this and we were watching it last night (the Star Wars episode) - very funny.

i am absolutly obsessed!! i'd never heard of it before until a friend borrowed me the books and i got the film when it came out and have watched it about 20 times and read all 4 books. i am sbsolutly in love with edward!! its so sad but he gives me goosebumps whenever i see his gorgeous face!!! i love love love the film so much!!!

I'm a massive Twilight fan...only started reading because I am a member of uite a few literary forums, being a novelist, and I needed to find out whether it deserved the hype. It's underrated as far as I'm concerned! Lol!

Yes, the grammar isn't perfect but my God, Meyer's characterisation is phenomenal!!!!

I'm another twilight fan. I do enjoy most vampire books, and twilight was no exception. I can see why some people don't seem to like them, but I really enjoyed the whole series. I want my own Edward ;)
I have my own! Lol!...
