    Why are you losing weight?

    Maybe you have a special occasion coming up... Or a holiday
    Perhaps you just can't stand being the size you are any more, you have health problems or you doing it to stave off health problems.

    Personally I'm doing this for me since I put on the weight over 3 years ago I've wanted to get it off. I want to feel comfortable in myself be back to how I was before my eating got out of had and most of all I want to be in charge of my eating not bingeing controlling me

    I'm losing weight for my mental health and well-being. I was feeling really low and very lethargic so decided to shift myself and take action.
    I missed out on a holiday abroad in May as I felt too big!!!
    Decided this wasn't going to happen again.
    I've been on slim&save now for 7wks and lost nearly 2 stone.
    I've upped my exercise the past week trying to get the last couple of lb's off.
    I now feel full of energy and ready for my Sept holiday lighter and brighter.

    I'm losing weight because at last I've found a diet I can comply with. Done all the others over the years, and learned something about myself from each one, but it seems to have all come together recently. Got my head sorted from stressing over things I can't control, and decided I'm giving my needs priority..... this attitude is doubtless helped by the fact I hope to have a hip replacement later in the year!

    I can honestly say it has been the easiest thing ever.

    It's nice to feel in control of your diet don't you find? And now you know yourself you know what you can do and you know when things are slipping back to old habits.
    Your right about not worrying about the things you can't control when you have a better outlook everything falls into place

    I want to lose weight for so many reasons really, firstly health as I had escaped any health problems up until fairly recently when I developed sleep apnea and found I was pre-diabetic, since losing 2 stone 1 lb in the last 7 weeks I have already got my sleep apnea sorted and its not effecting me now and the marks on my body which were seen as signs of being pre-diabetic due to insulin levels have faded so much thanks to going from starving and binge eating to regular healthier eating.

    Of course for looks as well I hate the way I look and I want to feel better about myself and feel more confident and be able to shop for clothes in normal high street shops.

    Plus I wan't to reclaim my life, I gained just under 7 stone since 2001 when I was attacked and realise now that the extra weight was a way of me protecting myself from ever being attacked by a man again on one level and so losing the weight is me reclaiming my life and saying to the man who abused me so badly that hes not won, I will come out on top at the end of the day and be able to move on from what happened to me back then.

    I'm losing weight because i'm fed up of being viewed as the big girl, at having to shop in the plus size corner of clothing shops, of being the fattest one in the class. I'm losing weight so I no longer feel uncomfortable on public transport or worry that the seat belt on coaches/airplanes won't fit. I'm losing weight because I have dodgy knee that simply can't cope with the pressure i'm putting it under, because i'm fed up of people assuming I eat takeaways every night and think chocolate oranges count as one of my five a day. I'm losing weight because I want to stop using my fat as an excuse, to stop using it as a comfort blanket and as a wall to keep people away. I'm losing weight because I want to enjoy food but not to the point where I use it as an alternative to expressing my feelings. I'm losing weight because i'm fed up of looking like a flesh coloured watermelon with a pea for a head.

    And other things. But so far the reasons to stay on the weight loss track far outweigh the reasons not to.

    I'm losing weight as a result of trying to live a healthier lifestyle. I wanted to start married life with a healthier attitude to food and housework and stop leaving it all to my DH. The healthy routines are starting to take root and I now make up at least half of the meals in our house. In fact I've started making healthy SW meals in reasonable quantities so that I can send the both of us off to work the next day with a filling lunch of leftovers. Ultimately I'd like to get down to my goal weight before starting a family to reduce the chance of complications. Target feels like a long way away, but I'm enjoying the journey and feeling better about myself every day.
