Hi everyone! I'm new to calorie counting, have been doing it for the last week using MFP app to track what I eat and take measurements.

So far I'm really enjoying it, I like the control I'm taking as it makes me so much more aware of how much I was overeating before :-o so far I'm 7lbs down and have many more to go, around 125lbs in fact!

I'm trying to break it down in to smaller goals so for each stone I lose I'll reward myself - not sure what with yet so any ideas are more than welcome :-D

Looking forward to doing this and making some friends along the way :)

Ali x

I'm still going. ... struggled a bit last week as it was the first week back at work and I was exhausted so had no energy for the gym :'(

I'm not beating myself up over the occasional treat though as I know long term this diet works and that I have to allow myself the occasional treat or I'll lose it completely! !

You're so right, occasional treats are no bad thing, though it is hard to resist temptation when you know you really shouldn't!

What kind of workouts do you do at the gym? I need to think about incorporating some exercise in to my plan, though tbh I'm trying to ease in to healthier eating first then get in to working out later - think it'd be too much of a shock to the system to do it all at once x

I've just been doing cardio to start with to build up my stamina, I plan on starting weight training over the next week or so though as I need to tone!

I don't eat back my exercise calories so anything I do is a bonus :)

Well over the last week I've been 562 cals under my net goal which is pretty good I think.

Finding it quite easy sticking to the daily allowance and only had 1 slight wobble yesterday, though I think it was because I was a bit run down with the sniffles.

Have been trying to make a point of having at least a yoghurt for breakfast as I would normally get an attack of the munchies around 10/11am ish, having the yoghurt seems to stave off hunger pangs until lunch time where I've been taking my own in rather than grabbing a sandwich whilst out. Don't feel anything like as bloated now too which is bonus :-D

Well done, fingers crossed that you'll see a good loss this week x

Well today has been a funny day; I've felt really hungry but when I had something just didn't fancy it. I'm under my calories today, but feel ok. Really need to get more water down through the day, I'm struggling with just plain water but not sure what would be best to add for flavour without adding little calories which would soon add up over the course of the day. I'm allowing myself treats, so tonight I've had 1 tin of pepsi for a sugar boost and added it to MFP to include the cals.

I fill 2 litre bottles with water and have them on my desk at work and aim to drink then throughout the day, at home I tend to drink peppermint tea, fizzy water and one can of diet coke a day as a treat.

I use an app to track my water intake too so I know I'm getting enough, I do find out hard sometimes at the weekend but 6/7 days I'm hitting 3 litres or more x

Hey! Sorry for not being around, I've been in hospital for the last week, only just came out yesterday.

Diet is going well and am still losing, even despite stodgy hospital food!

How are you getting on? I need to have a catch up on all the threads I'm subbed to lol x

sorry to hear you've not been well, well done for staying on track and still losing :) x

I'm still sticking with it. .. throwing in a couple of fast days at the mo to see how much of a difference it makes too :)

Well I've hit the 1st loss today and am rather happy! All of my clothes are getting to be loose too :-D

One thing has concerned me though, I check my weight daily (I know... It's not good) but I seem to have lost 1lb per day over the last 3 days. I weigh in the morning after having gone to the toilet - always the same for consistency. Perhaps it's just a fluke, but surely 1lb per day isn't normal? Will see how the next few days go, if it carries on maybe I need to alter my intake. I'm still on 1500 cals which is what MFP recommended for 1-2lb per week. Hmm...

Well done on hitting the one stone Mark x

your weight can fluctuate. ...I often find I can weigh on a Monday and be the same as the previous Thursday then have dropped a couple of pounds by my official Thursday weigh in!

If it becomes a regular 1lb a day loss then maybe you should increase your intake but I wouldn't jump the gun incase it's just a blip x

Mmm that's what I'm thinking, it probably is just a blip. I'm happy about it, don't get me wrong :) a loss is a loss! And that's what I'm all about at the moment :-D

Struggling to get motivated today, think I'm still worn out from being in hospital so really can't be trashed to get up and make something to eat.

I checked the scales and I've dropped another 2lbs, though I thought about it and I've been drinking so much water lately I wonder if that's flushed me out hence the quite sudden and dramatic weight loss? My appetite is nothing like it used to be, usually when I have a hunger pang I'll have a glass of squash and it seems to do the trick.

Going to make myself get up now and have some weetabix, then probably crash on the sofa and sleep some more!

I read an article about a woman who upped her water intake to 3l a day. ... Didn't do any extra exercise or limit calories and lost 1lb a week. ... After reading it I started drinking 3l a day... It deffo makes me feel better :-D
