Hi :)

I am joining you guys over here as although I have started on Slim Fast (5 days ago) I am subbing the shakes for meals on some occasions, so am predominantly calorie counting.

I started Slimming World back in January and lost a stone but for the last couple of months have re-gained some and haven't managed to get back in the zone at all. I was 14st 0.5oz when I started and as a shorty at 5ft 2, I need to weigh around 8st 7. I am currently weighing, as of last Wednesday, 13st 7 so that is still 5 stone to lose I feel like this is such a huge task and completely unachievable :(

Anyway I feel that I need a bit of a stricter regime, hence slim fast/calorie counting. I am following the Slim fast calorie allowance of 1360 calories and have found it to be ok. I haven't felt overly hungry at any point as I am also following the structure so am snacking plenty.

I hope I can achieve some of the great losses I have been reading on other people posts as they are so inspirational. My husband and I will have been together for 18 years in September and I would like to lose a bit of weight before then, plus it is my 35th birthday in October. My main aim is to lose as much as possible before this time next year. As I am going into my final year at university and would love some nice graduation photos

It's not unachievable at all, hon, and you've made a fantastic start! I had at 10 stone to lose when I joined this site, and it's been a huge help. Have you checked out the WEMITTS section, under Slimming Clubs? It's for people with a lot to lose, and it's a very active and supportive part of the forum. All the best! :) xx

Hi Mel *waves*

Here to sub, well done on your loss so far and for being so dedicated, i think having clear goals help you to stay as focused as possible (we all fall of a little sometimes) x

What are you studying? x

I'm doing a literature degree. I absolutely love it, even though it can be extremely stressful at times, it is one of the best things I have ever done :)
I am hoping my goals will keep motivated to keep going when times are tough.

Wow you have done amazingly well :D I will have a nosy over there as soon as I get a chance, thank you :)

I am determined to lose this weight even if it takes a year or more. I will probably assess how I am feeling once I get to the 9-10 stone bracket. It may be that I feel comfortable by that point.

Day 6 today and I am feeling positive again today. I need to grab some fruit from the little co op on the way back from the school run as I have nothing to snack on.

Have a good day everyone :)

You can do it!!! I'm proper rubbish and I'm 5 stone down and counting.

The only way you will fail is to give up... so remember to keep going and don't give up. Xxx

Thanks for all the replies.

I think the key is definitely dont give up... I will definitely keep going. Thankfully I am finding calorie counting pretty easy so far and dont feel too deprived yet so that is a bonus :)

A year is a long time, slow and steady wins the race as they say and like everyone says keep at it don't give up you will do it!! Im sure by your graduation u will be looking and feeling fab! Are you doing any exercise to speed up your weight loss? I know I havent had a massive amount to lose but exercise as made sch a difference to my figure honestly, ive been going about 6 months now and I can see the difference I first started with zumba, body balance (yoga,pilates,tai-chi mixed into 1) then kettle size (that toned me up so much!) now body pump (hard) bit of gym when I fancy it as I prefer classes. Kettlesize hurts at first but it burns body fat and creates lean muscle its ace I love it. Anyway just a thought for you xx

Hi Laura,

Did you find your weight loss slowed down or gained when you started with exercise?

it has not showed on the scales at all but I have gone down to a size 12 in jeans (been a 14 for donkeys!) my arms are thinner stomach flatter bum firmer! everything has toned up, but I did get a bit peeved with the scales ive been teetering on 11.3 for god knows how long tried w.w didn't work so I thought id give slim fast a whirl and ive got down to 10.10 this week im aiming for 10.7 and that will be lowest ive been ages, exercise has made me feel wonderful!
