    Post Ciaras Diary - SS

    Hi Guys

    Thought it be about time i done a little diary 12 days in. I will start by saying that this is my 3rd attempt. 1st time round was 3 years ago and i managed to lose 2 stone, unfortunately i couldnt afford to to maintain it and over the year i just slipped back into my old ways and put it back on . After then i tried various diets from atkins, ww, sw, waterfall diet.. you name it and ok i lost the odd pound here and there but was never enough to keep me motivated and stick to a particular diet.

    So after battling to try and lose weight last year i decided to give the cambridge diet another go, i think i managed the first week and then started feeling very sick and not able to touch any of the shakes, my counsellor tried to help me out on trying all different products but for some reason i couldnt stomach any of it so sadly had to give it up. After that i tried sw again and the gym but it still wasnt enough to keep me on track and slipped back again into my old eating habits but still going to the gym every now and then.

    At the beginning of this year my friend who also was struggling to lose weight and we both got involved in a bootcamp which i loved!! I love exercising anyway and i was loosing weight but it started to become a very expensive game and again sadly had to give that up April this year. So since then ive basically been joining fitness classes as well as trying to eat healthy and still wasnt loosing the weight which was really disheartening, so after coming back from my Holiday in Tunisia i gave the cambridge another thought and decided to give it ago one last time, HOPING they wasnt going to make me feel sick!!!
    So .. as we all do before we start a major diet i just ate what i liked since i come back off the hol and put half a stone on (ooops) This time round i have only told a few close people that im doing this diet because ive had so many negative people in the past who have to comment or judge you.. and smile if and when you fail, the worst ones are the people that have never been on a diet in there life!!!!

    So im back .... Last Monday 20/08/2012 i weighed in at 13st 7lbs and was mortified but this made me more determined to beat lardy arse and get back to my size 10/12 frame.

    Week 1 -
    Day 1 was fine for me, i think i was a tad excited i was starting this diet again but a bit anxious how my body would react to the tetra bricks (i have 3 choc tetra bricks) I wont lie the next few days were really tough, i started to feel really sick and on a night time my stomach hurt because i was hungry but it did get easier. I was coming home from work every day and literally lying on the bed or sofa because i was just so tired and had no energy, wondering whether this diet was actually worth making you feel like this and would i feel like it until the end??
    I decided to jump on the scales to see if it was working and by day 4 i had already lost half a stone which left a massive on my face but never got rid of the sick feeling so I texted my counsellor who was slightly concerned as she said i shouldnt be feeling so sick so admittedly i did miss 2 shakes out over two days to see if that would help and drank plently of water. By day 6 it was like a little switch and i just suddenly started feeling so much better, it also helped i drank as much water as i could and generally felt so much better.

    Week 2 -
    WI came and was over the moon when i lost 11lbs weighing in at 12.10 and to top it off i had stopped feeling sick and was back to having my 3 tetra bricks and lots of water. The only thing i havent cut out this diet since i started was my (skimmed) milk in tea and coffees and i think that was one of the main things thats help me get through my day because i do love my cuppas.
    Anyone struggling in week 1, well hopefully you are reading this and i promise you it gets SOOO much better, i did struggled with sleeping at night because although i was tired, my body was awake but i think i am back to normal now. Hunger pangs dont really make an appearence unless ive not had a shake or drank water but i make sure that i have as much as poss.
    Dont get me wrong it can be a struggle when i smell food and esepcially when my fella is tucking into chips ect but then i think of the red dress i bought a few months ago, when i put a dress on ready, hair, make up done ready for a night out, looked in the mirror and cried, got into my jimmys and bailed out from a night out with the girls. I havent been out for months because i felt so fat and reallly uncomfortable. The dress was fitted and did fit with pull in pants but no way did i feel comfortable (must have been dreaming when i bought it in a size 12)

    So here i am 12 days in and apparently the scales tell me i have lost 15lbs since last monday which makes me soooo dertermined now, there is no going back. Some may frown that i weigh myself every day but it really helps me get through the day and i feel so much better that there even staying the same on the odd day but then loosing on other days. I think you just got to do what helps you My 2nd weigh in is on monday and there i will start having 2 shakes and a bar. Ive got until the 6th Oct until my next night out with the girls and dertermined to get into that little red dress. Sorry if ive rattled on but i think its help me actually write/type everything down... I will been updating reguarly so it be nice to look back and see how far i come, just a bit gutted i never took pictures before so i can compare.

    Weekends are a struggle for me because i relate that to a treat (all weekend haha) after a hard week at work, my fella had a chinese last night and i ended up giving in to a very small portion of chips but i thought, you know what? sod it, we got to treat ourselves every now and then or else we will end up cracking and i dont feel guilty what so ever, just back on the shakes and waiting for monday to arrive...

    Well ive been naughty this weekend and feeling guilty today, made myself home made chips, 1 handful worths but enough to make me feel poo considering i had some chippy ones the night before. The inlaws are having a BBQ today and was going to have a burger or too... is it really worth it and start again tomorrow?? Or do i start today... ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

    Hahaha your posts make me laugh!! Your doing really well. Iv just hit my first stone loss and ended up pinching some of the boyfriends dominos pizza last night and like u I think a little treat. Lucky it ddnt make me ill but I'm not going to push my luck. I too find weekends the hardest. If I'm finding it really hard I have a ss+ day. Hope the BBQ goes well. X

    ha ha, ohy my dear god... dominos... i absolutely love them!!! you dont well for just pinching abit, i would feel id have to eat the pizza and the box it came it.. maybe thats why i put 3 odd stone on... OOOPS!! Thanks im looking forward to the BBQ but i am just thinking of taking my shakes along and just sipping them whilst they tuck into burgers ... :s weigh in tomorrow and im slightly dreading it now!!!     Ive just had to erase what i called you just... i was talking about Dominos in the previous post and instead of typing thanks DiamonDoll i put thanks dominos hahahah omg.. food is taking over my life this weekend!!
    Yeah i was tempted to at the BBQ today but the weather is looking pretty grim now so im thinking shakes and water so dont feel so bad tomorrow WI.

    Well my version of pinch abit was 3 slices and a slice of garlic bread. I was just sugar coating the incident to make myself feel better. Took my little one to the zoo today so done plenty of walking. The stone is an unofficial wi do il be able to say for definite on tues. how u doing today?? Dd u manage to stick to shakes x

    Itl be my third. My weighs not shifting to quick for some reason. My CDC thinks its because iv come off my pill. It was hard first week because people seemed to me losing 7-9lb but at least it's in the right direction. Gd luck tomo let me know x

    Arr thanks Lucy, yeah my official WI is every 2 weeks so really its tomorrow but my scales wi the same as on hers so fingers crossed it has the same results tomorrow. dont think it will be a big loss but then it never is after your first week. keep me updated guys xx

    Still 3rd WI hun and a stone off?? Not many diets can do that eh??! your doing really well!! Cant believe il be working my way into week 3, gone so quik yet week one felt like i was on the diet for a year ha ha xx

    Well Just had my 2nd WI and lost 4 pounds So 15lbs in 2 weeks, not bad going. Although it is a loss i think 4 lbs is nothing compared to the 11lbs loss in the first week. BUT... my next aim is now to get into the 11s XXX

    1-5 weeks: -30lbs
    6-10 weeks: -18lbs
    11-15 weeks: -15lbs
    16-19 weeks: -13lbs

    Then break for Christmas which saw slight weight gain

    Restart: +5lbs
    Week 1: -6lbs
    Week 2: -3lbs (TOTM)

    Total lost since 15 July: -80lbs


    1st target: get under 16st....achieved 03.11.12

    2nd target: get to 13st12 (classified on BMI as overweight)
    3rd target: get to 13st
    4th target: get to 12st (goal!)
