Martha's Diary - seeing it through to the end....

    Hey everyone

Thought it would be a good way to motivate myself and hopefully others to continue to end of their weight loss journey.

I'm Martha. I'm 25 from Belfast. I'm married and mother to a beautiful 4 and a half year old girl.

I actually started Cambridge in June 2012 and started off well but quickly went back to old dieting habits of having a meal after weigh in and it slowed things down for me big time. I

It took me to dec to loose 3.5 stone and it was quite common for me to near the next stone and suddenly decides I wanted to eat. Self sabotage I guess.

Over Christmas and right up until march this year I messed about and found it so hard to get back into the swing of things. I got so mad at myself because I knew there was nothing I wanted more than to be slim and feel good about myself.

I have many reasons for wanting to loose weight. I want to like what I see in the mirror. I don't want my daughter to be answerable for my weight ( she recently came home from nursery telling my a girl in her class was laughing because I had a big tummy) that's not her problem and I don't want her to feel she has to explain herself for me. I want to be a good role model for my daughter and my future children. I want to go into 'normal shops' and buy clothes knowing they will stock my size. I don't want to be the 'fat friend'

I'm sure we all have our reasons and they are just some of mine.

I lost 3.5 stone up to December and it all went downhill after that.

My cwpc was heading on holiday the following week so it would be 2 weeks until I got weighed again.I promised myself I would just see these 2 weeks through and I would have already achieved something because I've never done ss 2 weeks straight.

Well I did stick to it 100% and when I got weighed I was 21lbs lighter. The following week I lost 2lb which I was a little disappointed in but I had to remember the large loss the fortnight before I couldn't expect a huge loss. I decided that day fortnightly weigh ins will suit me better. That brings me up to today and my next weigh in is tomorrow morning.

I am now on my 6th week and I can hardly believe I have been so strong for this amount of time and I continue to surprise myself as the weeks float by.

My goal weight is 11 stone and I cannot wait to see the stones melt away from my body.

I would love you all to follow my journey and hopefully we can support each other through this journey.

    Thanks for reading

Duno how many of you miss cooking whilst on plan but I really do.

I still cook for my daughter of course but its just basic stuff nothing overly fancy just old favourites.

Made homemade tomato pasta sauce the other day for my husband and daughter. It's so frustrating when you can't taste it to see if its right. Had my husband stood next to me doing taste tests until it was ready lol which ended up being a fail because my daughter wouldn't eat it because it was too spicy

I also love baking!! Really missing that because my daughter was always my little helper.

Bought a new baking book this week and it arrived this morning filled with amazing recipes I cannot wait to try out.

The good thing about it is that I know I won't eat what I bake because I enjoy baking for other people.

It will be hard not to taste here and there but I trust myself not to. I will look forward to the nice stuff i can have when I'm in California this summer. That's my focus for now

How about you guys? Do u miss cooking or baking?

    M xx

Totally agree with u, I love cooking/baking & miss it, did make potatoe dinosaurs from scratch for my 2 yest which they didn't even eat!!! & threw out a whole loaf of cheesy bread that I'd baked 2 yest cause nobody ate it, prob I have if its slightly dif to normal no one apart from me will eat it & I can't now? U r doing so well though, I'm totally impressed by how well everyone keeps doing at the mo while I'm doing rubbish!!! U prove it can b done though so stick with it, ur loses r g8.

Thanks pink believe me I felt the exact same way for so long. Then just one day it clicked and I nvr looked back. That day will come for you too. I can't wait for the day I can be making all the yummy things again and actually enjoying them lol.

It's awful when u are so proud of urself making stuff and nobody eats it lol.

I'm sure you will be at goal in no time. Have you much left to loose?

Just keep ur focus. Believe me if I can get to almost 6 weeks 100% ss, anybody can!
