Well I've decided to start my own food diary, I have run out of the paper ones...and as I seem to be spending more time on here and getting more support than group I thought this might keep me on track, please feel free to add any advice...I'm not easily offended!!

This is my third attempt at SW, I know it works, I have lost the six stone I needed too.....unfortunatly in three lot's of two stone losses....followed by six months to put the two stone back on!!!If I'd of stuck to it I'd of been at target last year....for my 40th Birthday gggrrrr!!!
I have been slowly gaining weight since I was 18 and gave up dancing to get married and start my family (very silly thing to do, but it made perfect sense to the 18yr old version of me!!) Over the years alongside three lovely children (Joshua 23, Romi 21 and India 18) I have also gained six stone!!! I also have a lovely three year old grandaughter (Faye, I know Gran at 38!! Should of had Joshua's bit's laminated when puberty struck!!! But boys will be boys...and she is fabulous even if Gran says so!! I joke when people complain about losing baby weight....I missed that and went straight for losing the Granny weight!!)
I seem to have got my head around this being a long term committment this time, took me twenty years to gain, got to be at least a year to loose aye!
I love my life, have a job I love, a very supportive partner who I still fancy and fancies me back, and great kids who are becoming great adults, I don't need to lose weight to improve all of that....but losing weight might mean I get to live it a lot longer and a lot healther than I could do if I don't over come my food issues!!

So I have had a naughty weekend, daughters 21st..lot's of wine and vodka (social life is my downfall...particularly a snifter or five!!) and am trying to rein it in for weigh in on Wed.
EE day
Breakfast: Slice of ham grabbed from the fridge, a plum and a swig of tea.
Snack: Banana and a mandarin.
Lunch: Large mixed salad with a tin of mackerel in tomato sauce (stunk out my office!!)
Mullerlight.
Dinner: Planning on Gammon Steak with mixed roast veg, corgette, pepper's, onion, mushrooms and carrotts....maybe just a few spuds but trying to be good!!

Had several green tea's today, saving milk for tea/coffee this evening.

That looks very good!! I'm not always that good...you wait and see!!!:flirt2:

Big love Clare xxxx

Ha ha what an excellent start!

My social life is my downfall too. Just take a look at my diary for the lush proof lol.

I also weigh in on a weds and also put a stone back on last year of a 3.5 st loss!

Good luck :)

Applekath I just found your wino's thread!! loved it....apart from the people who love to point out the obvious that alcohol is very syn laden, empty cals, will slow your weight loss ect ect!!!....yes we know...that's why we chose to spend our syns on that rather than cake or chocolate....if I wanted a quick fix I'd do one of those VLC diets but that won't teach me how to moderate the amounts of everything I put in my poor body!!!..... each to their own!!!
Ohhh almost ranted then!! Well I'm not sure weather today will be an EE or a Green day....I never do Red, was a veggie for nearly 20yrs....till I lost a battle with a pork pie!!! I like meat I'm just not keen on the way it's farmed (or the prices these days!)so only eat the good stuff when Mr Tesco has decided it's time to reduce it.....and when I have remembered to get it out of the freezer!! Mr Peacedove is a real carnivore, meat and not too many veg...unless it's been mashed with butter or chipped and deep fried....and he is thin as a pin.....imagine Iggy Pop in the see through trousers...or maybe not...difficult to focus!!! All of my kids were veggie kids but only the youngest has stayed one into adulthood.....so cooking for all can be difficult!!! EE does tend to be easier!!

So today the plan is:
Breakfast: Already had Dorset Fruity Porridge with a banana on top (skimmed milk from my HEa) 2 large mugs of tea, will try and stick to green tea for the rest of the day.

Lunch: Large mixed salad with small tub of cottage cheese, lot's of black pepper and a Mullerlight for pud!

Snacks: Have a banana an apple and a mandarin in my fruit bowl on my desk and a packet of instant noodles for emergency purposes!!

I have WI after work so I try to eat light on Wed....I'm sure it's just phycological....but can't help myself!!

Dinner: Maybe the baked bean lasagne with a big salad or It'll be a quorn sausage, mash and at least three helpings of different veg with some gravy.

I am trying to save syns for Saturday, I have a stag do to go too with some of my particularly boozy mates...all hard drinking musicians. Planning on going early, drinking spritzers (which they will mock...but who cares!!) and sneaking off once the Stag is suitably unaware of what is happening!!! xxx

Excellent. I do better low carb but like you only buy the happy stuff and it was running expensive so now EE with a few red days.

Yep my friends are huge lushes. We did nine bottles of good red Sunday afternoon into the evening between four of us!

I don't give a flying you know what about cakes and sweets lol

:wavey: Another self confessed wino here :D lol

I use a rather large chunk of my syns on booze and I don't give a flying **** what anyone has to say on the matter :D This SW eating plan is for life, so it has to fit my lifestyle otherwise I couldn't do it. I'm not bothered about choccy, just give me the wine! lol

I really must go find applekaths thread now! lol I do love a drinker :D lol

Sounds very similar to my bunch of lovelies....of whom I am the largest I might add!!! Could easily do that in a good sitting!! It's so hard though when everyone around you is having a lovely time. I have managed to sort out the food eaten after drinking.....tend not to want anything once I've had a glass or two....but then get starving later and eat something I shouldn't!! I am pleased to say that has stopped.....and I manage to eat SW comfort food the next day....always feel like hoovering up the entire contents of the fridge if I have a hangover!!.....oh god will the alcohol mafia be after us?....sounds terrible when put like that doesn't it....but most of my socialising revolves around food and a drink or five!! I know to make real progress I need to cut out alcohol.....but that would make socialising so uncomfortable for me!!! Like I said I have cut down to once a week....normally a Friday....where I will have what I like but that doesn't allow for any unexpected events the rest of the weekend so I may change to Saturday, although I do love my Friday bottle of wine.....I can here it calling from Friday lunch time!! I am trying to tailor my tastes as well, so more spritz than wine and more t than g!! I am going to try the something cove wine that a few people have spoken about on your thread, I think I have tried it before but found it too sweet, wonder if it might be o.k with soda? That way I could make my bottle last longer and less syns....only 14 per bottle I believe......trouble is....I like GOOD wine....and the taste of the Bombay Saphire!!!! Gaaaa are we doomed!!! No....a lb a week is almost 4stone in a year, and imagine how much we could be putting on if we weren't doing this!!!.....Positive!! It's WI day...always makes me doubt myself.....I'm sure I'll get used to it!! xxxx

Hello Corky!!! yes she started one just for us...avoid the girl who states the bloomin obvious though!!! Almost started a Lucia's grapefruit moment!!....would have like to rub her nose in your sucess so far...you old lush you!! xxxx

Moi? A lush? How right you are! :8855:

I can't even find the thread! What's it called? :)

Ha ha I love this! If you take a look at my food diary, you will see what I got up to on Sunday. I'm dreading weigh in tonight. I'm hardly off the flipping starting block yet!

Hmmmm Bombay. My navy boy has picked me up two litres in Gibralta as it's silly cheap there. Trouble is, I don't get until he comes home in August. Just polished off the christmas bottle the other day after eeking it out. It's got to be served in a good heavy glass ( my friend has the most amazing Tiffany tall glasses) loads of ice, tonic and a lime slice NOT lemon!

I too have cracked the booze eating to the point of flinging cous cous about the kitchen the other week after a rather heavy night out. I woke up in the morning and thought to myself..did I dream there is cous cous all over the kitchen or was that real lol. Yup went to the kitchen and it was everywhere!

That is better of course than getting up to a grill covered in cheese from round of cheese on toast or fast food wrappers in the bin ;-)

Sorry to hijack but thats hilarious! really made me chuckle! I once woke up with a slice of stone cold buttered toast stuck to my face, but never flung couscous round the kitchen!

I used to love my tipple, but now I get such bad hangovers it's not worth it! haha, plus none of my friends really drink.

I'm not the kind of reserved, well behave person who can have a nice relaxing glass of wine, its a bottle or 2 or nothing. so I tend to stick with nothing!

Food is looking great peacedove! keep it up!

I have woken up in bed with a kebab!!....and thats definatly not the worst strange thing I've woken up with!!! xxxx

haha! my Kebab House treat was *drum roll* Large Garlic bread pizza with cheese, donner meat, and coleslaw piled on top, with a side of cheesy chips and beans.

I'd dread to think how many syns that is! but I was a size 12 at the time and didnt care, me thinks thats part of the reason how I got here!

Glad I made you chuckle.

My friend woke up on her sofa a few years ago with a the circle card lid from a cornetto stuck to the side of her face lol.

My SW buddy fell asleep drunk in his hotel room. Woke up shrieking thinking he'd had some dreadful accident by the state of the sheets. It all came back to him... He'd fallen asleep eating a foot long meatballs in sauce subway! I was crying when he told me that!

Well WI last night and another lb off. Annoyingly another lb would of got me into the 15's and another two would of got me my first stone!!
I would love to get my first stone next week, I'm aiming for half a stone each month to get me to goal by Christmas.
So came home from WI made dinner, went for veggie sausages (only had the tesco's own brand in the freezer so I think thats 1syn each, and being me I had three!!) Got into bed to watch a bit of mindless TV and do a bit of marking and......a friend turned up with a bottle of red!! She had been away staying with some friends of ours in Portugal, recovering from a broken heart!! By the time I'd got down stairs the bottle was open and my glass had been poured....I ended up having two large glasses which means no wine O'clock for me on Friday!!!....and over my syn for Wed straight after WI!!!
Well draw a line and here we go for this week!!

Breakfast: 2 Weetabix a banana and skimmed milk (HEb and HEa)

Lunch: Mixed salad and instant noodles (bit concerned that the noodles seem to be rather high in calories (261 cals per half a pack) only just noticed maybe I'll pop to the shop for a tin of tuna or something.

Snack:Banana, mandarin and an apple.

Dinner: Not sure but I think quorn cottage pie with not to much mash and a lot of super free veg.

I am going to try very hard this week to reduce my potato/pasta/noodle portions!!

Well, checked out the noodles on the syn calculator.....9syns.....no thanks!!! Had a left over tin of lentil soup so had half of that and my salad for 5syns, a bit better but still not happy!!......especially when I found another packet of instant noodles in the bottom of my bag and they were 3syns per pack and would of been much more filling. The only difference between the noodles (same brand from Lidl) was the flavour, can be so annoying when manafacturers alter the recipe that much....and you end up scuppering yourself unintentionally. Think I'll have a quorn cassarole for tea instead and do away with the potato altogether.....I'm bloomin hungry now and I've eaten all my fruit!!!

Well Friday is here and I'd normally be looking forward to a glass of wine or two tonight but had a couple on Wednesday night and have a do on Saturday so going to be good, although I have heard about a low alcohol wine (5.5%) called First Cape Cafe, I understand from other Minimins that it's only 12syns a bottle but wondering what it tastes like....I hate anything too sweet so if anyone has tried it I'd love to know what you thought. A bottle of that on a Friday and Saturday with lot's of Soda could make all the difference to my socialising issues!
So today's menu.

Breakfast: 2 Weetabix, a banana and skimmed milk (HEa and b)

Lunch:Left over quorn cottage pie and brocolli (cottage pie had onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and baked beans in it Mash spud on top, but not too much! and a couple of teaspoons of gravy granules to thicken....I'm counting a syn a portion!)
Snacks: Banana, apple and a mandarin.

Dinner: running low at home so will cobble together a quorn chicken piece cassarole, maybe a spanish chicken thing with peppers, carrotts , onions, tomato and passatta with either rice or a little jacket spud.......no wine!!!!!!

I may not be about much this weekend as have a stag do on Saturday afternoon/evening and a little party for my Grandaughters birthday on Sunday. xxxx

Nice one on the loss.

Did you try that low syn wine yet?
