Hi, a little about me. My name is Laura and I am a serial yo-yo dieter. I weigh myself, am horrified, go on a diet, lose some, give up and then put on more weight. I am currently 11 stone 6, the highest I have ever been. I feel frumpy, I have an 'overweight' BMI, and I couldn't fit into my favourite dress for my boyfriends graduation. In fact, I can't fit into many of my clothes anymore. Which is depressing, to say the least.

I was calorie counting for a little while, but life pretty much got in the way of. Horrible family news about my granddad has left me spiralling out of control a little, as he was recently rushed into hospital and has been diagnosed with an incurable type of blood cancer and acute renal failure. Not great. Although calorie counting has worked for me in the past, I do not think it is working for me now. I just tend to eat my calories on crap - end up hungry still, and then have a massive blow out. My skin is not fantastic at the moment either, after stopping the pill I have battled with acne for over half a year and I am hoping the healthier foods will help improve my skin. Cleansing out the 'inside' and all that jazz!

Therefore, I am looking at slimming world again. I think the strict limit on crap will help me, it has in the past. I currently have last years stuff, so will be doing it at home. I will need all the support I can get!!!

My first goal will be to get back into a healthy BMI category. I am not in a rush to lose this weight - it will come off slowly or quickly, I don't mind. I still want to live my life and if that means a few weeks where things have not totally gone to plan, then that's fine. I want to see a downward trend overall though! :)

My next goal will be to get to tend and a half stone, then ten, and then my final target of nine and a half stone. Which I have not been for a very long time!

Will be starting tomorrow

Here we go! :)

Yeah i know a few recipes that are mine and the OH favourites (as even he eats my food! Haha), a recipe for a very quick and cheap chicken curry, a quick chilli, stuffed jacket potatoes (this can be a bit time consuming, but well worth it!), spicy prawn noodles, the mushy pea curry, a superspeed tomatoe soup, kfc smash chicken pieces...

If you want, i can type any of these out in more detail for you?

Well done for getting on the scales! :) my weigh in is tonight, i've been very good this week so hoping for a decent loss!

Spicy prawn noodles sounds nice - I'd love the recipe for that!

Been a slight change for dinner - no mayo so no potato salad, just boiled potatoes and extra veg (cabbage and carrots). Well, more vegetables and less syns is hardly a bad thing!

Think I will post piccies of my meals too - I always love looking at food. :)

4lbs off! got my half stone award today :D

Okay Spicy Prawn Noodles:

Ingredients: Raw Jumbo King Prawns, Medium Egg Noodles ( dry, not fresh ), cherry tomatoes chopped, onion roughly choppped, lazy chillies (pre chopped), garlic, and frylight.

Procedure: Place egg noodles in pan ready to boil, chop other ingredients up. Spray frying pan with frylight, and add the jumbo prawns and begin to cook, add the onions and tomatoes to cook through. Add the chillies and the garlic and mix in with the prawns to heat through. Boil the egg noodles, and the drain. Place back in pan, add a squirt of tomato puree to the noodles and mix, add the prawns etc to the noodles and mix.
Serve with salad.

It takes about 10 mins start to finish and it is soooo nice! Add as much chilli or garlic, depending on your taste. I always add salt and pepper too :)

Today has been such a long day! I am exhausted, and I still have so much to do!
Tonight is pizza night, but I have used my syns accordingly - a splurge tonight just means I will cut back for the rest of the week. I will still eat well, but can still have my favourite treats. I really am trying to make it work this time 'round. Treats all allocated in a weeks worth of syns!

I got up late this morning so was in a complete rush to get out the house by seven. I have had a quick break and then I had to take some children out on a trip today - which has exhausted me! Too much energy!
I now have to quickly sort out dinner, and then visit my grandmother because it's her birthday. Will also find out (hopefully) news on my granddad, who is in hospital at the moment because of leukaemia. A truly long day! I want to go to bed now!

I really am fed up of this cold now. Had it since Wednesday, I have a sore throat, intermittent ear pain, a runny/blocked nose all at once, aching back, I keep sneezing, I now have a chesty cough and seem to have developed a little tooth ache. Wish it could just go away!

Just had a lovely breakfast this morning, HEXB toast, spread, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, chopped tomatoes and baked beans! Lovely big plate full!!

Today has been a lovely day - the sun has been out shining and it has put me in a rather good mood!

Went for a walk with the dog too, not as far as I would have liked but this cold is stopping me in my tracks! Hopefully these clear skies will continue!
