So here we are, weighing more than I ever have before, back on SW again, but DETERMINED that this time both the weight loss and the eating plan is for life!

i thought I'd write a food diary so I can keep track of what I'm eating, what works and what doesn't for me, and hopefully help others out with new ideas. I know that reading other people's food diaries has helped me so I hope mine can help others too:)

I joined SW tonight. Monday evening will be my regular group and I'll try and write down my food here every day as well as weight changes for the week.

Heres to yummy free foods, a sustainable eating plan and a healthier lifestyle. Good luck on your journeys everyone :)

made a chicken noodle salad, and have cous cous and tray bake left over from yrsterday. Not sure exactly what I'm having when yet but nice to have plenty of choice :)

Hi Leanne

You`re doing great!

I found that I was really hungry the first week too, but managed to curb it with lots of fruit. I only started the plan 3 weeks ago and still trying to get into the swing of it. Really like the sound of the chicken tray bake, might give that a go at the weekend. Funnily enough, today I`ve been craving something sweet like cake too! Have managed to resist though and made do with a KitKat:)

Have subscribed to your thread..won`t be long till your first WI keep up the good work!

Thanks Audrey :) great to have another slimming world member go over the food diary and let me know what they think. I'm really keen to give this my all but feeling constantly hungry means I'm struggling a little. Pleased I have managed to stay on plan though.

As its another hungry day today I have been hard boiling eggs & eating them! Just Cooking them has provided a distraction stopping me from reaching for the choc, or my little ones white bread with peanut butter!

a little worried about tomorrow as we are off out to family as its my nieces 2nd birthday. My understanding is that they are doing a roast so I can try incorporate it into the plan, not have too much gravy, avoid pudding etc. They have done SW before so they know the plan which helps. It's just down to my willpower to say no to things like pudding eek.

full diary shortly :)

Just popping into subscribe - I'm also on slimming world it looks like you are off to a good start. A roast dinner can be v slimming world friendly if you measure your gravy etc. Well done on resisting cake, I find having low syn alternative treats is definitely helpful in keeping on plan.

Thanks snow & zafira. The Herby cous cous is in SW Mag- the one before the current one. Pretty Easy to make, it's cous cous made up using hot veg stock, spring onions, tinned green lentils, mix of fresh herbs or dried mixed herbs added to the stock and couscous if you don't have fresh (I don't have fresh), tbsp of red wine vinegar and roasted peppers all mixed together. Made loads!
I have brought a selection of low syn snacks inc treat size choc in the freezer, tea cakes, low cal crisps and some 10 cal jelly pots. Need to go back to the pound store where I picked up skinny popcorn a few weeks back- it's really nice and there is quite a bit in a bag for I think 4 syns. 17g bag from multipack.

Today's food diary:

breakfast- berry fruit salad (strawberries, rasberries, blackberries & blueberries) and a banana muller light.
lunch- mild lamb curry (lamb korma out of SW mag) with rice, grapes and necterine for afters. My little one who isn't even two yet loves this curry! Love that she can eat a lot of what Im eating :) though with minor adjustments and added fat sometimes due to her being only 22 months.
snacks- 2 hard boiled eggs, tea cake 3.5 syns, prawns dipped in tbsp sweet chilli sauce 1.5 syns, banana.
5pm hunger - small bowl of chopped chicken, roasted peppers and herby cous cous. Am coming to the end of this now finally lol. It's v nice, will make again, just either 1/2 the amount or not for a week or so as I have eaten loads of it!
dinner time- baked beans, poached egg, potato wedges and fried mushroom tomato is the plan
Supper- I plan to have a salmon sandwich with HE bread and ham and cheese roll ups- spread HE Cheese spread over free ham, add salad leaves and roll up to eat - yummy! Prob have a pack of wosits again 5 syns and small kinder bar 3.5
Milk for tea 1/2 (one cup today and I didn't even finish it as my little one was hyper lol)
total 14 syns

hoping this hunger wears off soon! X

Sitting here stuffing my face on SW friendly food, thinking to myself that there are not many eating plans which wouldn't frown on a) what I'm eating and b) the time I am eating it :).

i know eating late isn't for everyone but personally I havnt had problem with doing so on SW. It's a very freeing, flexible plan isn't it!

Sorry, thinking out loud! Want to keep reminding myself of all the great things about the plan to help me stick to it this time. I do feel different about SW this time already. Feel more determined and feel more like I'm focusing on smaller steps :)

Oh blergh, after a rough night last night and no sleep I didn't make it to Essex. Been under a lot of stress lately with moving, then house refurb throwing up nasty surprises that ended up costing far too much and also family issues, I think it all caught up with me. So, hubby took little one to Essex and I had a lazy day, mainly sleeping in the morning, feeling much better for it now.

not sure how but I have stayed on plan! Very pleased as I usually am a terrible comfort eater!

food diary for today:
breakfast- banana, scrambled egg no milk, mushrooms & tomatos fried in frylight
lunch- salmon fillet, potato wedges made with frylight, herbs & black pepper, spinach, poached egg and mixed green leaf salad.
dinner- pasta with SW ragu sauce made with carrots, peppers. Tinned tomatoes, bacon, lean mince, and herbs. 5g grated Parmesan (1syn)
grapes to follow,
night time snack- weight watchers wholemeal pitta HEB with Kerry low low cheese spread HEA, salad leaves & lean ham
snacks- tea cake 3syns, nectarine, mint muller yogurt, wosits 5syns, small kinder bar 3.5syns , cucumber sticks

syns- 12.5

Hope you guys are doing good? Going to see if I can add link to my food diary to my signature. Actually I need to start doing a signature full stop. Hmmm how pretty to make it? People have some fab signatures on here! X

Well done on staying on plan - I am exactly the same with comfort eating but at least with slimming world there are lots of things you can have that are plan friendly.

Having a good week thus far but already thinking about Tuesday (my weigh day) and hoping it will show on the scales!

The signature is quite easy I think on here - mine is probably a bit cluttered but a link is a good idea!

Glad that you`re feeling better now Leanne.

I`m much the same with comfort eating.. Was always a bit jealous of the ones that lose their appetite when chaos strikes! The SW Ragu sauce sounds yum:) will look it up and give it a go.

I`ve had a good weekend sticking to plan, done all the shopping yesterday and plan to do a good bit of cooking for the freezer tomorrow when I have some time. Think if I have lots to choose from for meals there`s really no excuse for not eating well.

Thanks ladies,

snow- good luck for Tuesday weigh in. Sounds like you are doing really good :)
Wee audrey- I know exactly what you mean with feeling jealousy towards those that loose appetite! Wouldn't wish stress on anyone but when I need to loose weight and am stressed anyway, putting on more weight just stresses me out more!

so tomorrow is 1st weigh in eek. Been good today on plan. Hubby came home last night from Essex with quite a bit of cake but miraculously I have not touched any of it! Was thinking of treating myself to a piece tomorrow night after WEigh in but not sure if I should!

Todays diary-
breakfast- berry fruit salad, muller light & grapes
lunch- easy tuna pasta bake recipe from SW website- made this with more cheddar than stated. Enough so I could count the cheese in my portion as a HEA. It was very scrummy comfort food MMmmm
dinner- jacket potato, lean gammon steak, egg, salad and salsa from SW mag- rocket, tomatoes & spring onion with lime juice. 1tbsp extra light mayo 1/2 syn
snack-banana, grapes, strawberries, wotsits 5syns, 2 tesco low fat sausages 2syns, kinder bar 3.5syns, pepper sticks
supper/ late night snack- HEB wholemeal bread for a salmon sandwich, 2 laughing cow light blue cheese triangles wrapped in lean ham

my little one if full of a cold and coughing her guts up in bed bless her. Don't think either of us will be sleeping much tonight :( poor munchkin.
think I'd only be dreaming of stepping on those scales Anyway
