    losing weight to get pregnant

Apologies if I have posted in the wrong place, I'm fairly new to all this!!

At the end of september My husband and I will be celebrating our second wedding anniversary, we have been trying to get pregnant since our wedding day . Doctors have told us we have unexplained infertility which is good news in the fact we have nothing wrong, but bad news in the fact that there is nothing to rectify!

I have since put my focus in to losing weight and getting my BMI to under 30 to increase my options and help myself to get pregnant.

I have been following Slimming World EE since july and have lost 22.5lbs. I have 12.5 to go until I am under the magic BMI of 30!

Just wondered if anyone else has been or is in the same position as me?

    thankyou for reading

    Hi :-)

I'm also trying to lose weight to help us conceive although I'm much heavier than you! We have been trying just over a year and recently found out hubby has 'lazy sperm'. I am currently waiting for a 21 day blood test to see if there is anything 'wrong' with me! We then have an appointment at the fertility clinic in half term. I had a super early miscarriage in January this year but nothing since.....I kinda thought that must mean its possible but now every month that goes by I lose a little but more hope.

Fingers crossed losing weight will trigger everything to kick into action. Good luck to you :-)

    Hi Kazrace,

thankyou for your reply, it's nice to know I'm not the only person in this situation

I know exactly how you feel about losing hope every month. All my friends and family have children and we are the last, I just feel it's never going to happen (

I shall be keeping my fingers crossed for both of us and sending baby dust!! unlike you we have never been pregnant in the 2 years we have been trying. Try to focus on the positives that you can get pregnant, and draw hope from this, or you will slowly drive yourself insane like me!!

Also we have made the right step in choosing to lose weight to make ourselves and our bodies healthier!!

A friend recently suggested reflexology to help me conceive? have you heard of it, just wondered if you had an opinion on it?

I see you also follow slimming world, do you go to group? I'm doing it online at the moment and think I might be spurred on if I actually attend group?
I have given myself a target of losing 12.5lbs by christmas, then we can go back to the drs for more options!! (the drs didn't seem concerned when we visited a year in to trying to conceive and told us to come back after 2 years!)

    xxx

Lost another 2.6lbs last week, so only 10lbs to go until my BMI is under 30 and the doctors can start me on meds to conceive!!
Only downside is that all my jeans are now too big!! Have to wear leggings/jeggings until I lose another couple of stone, then can do a mega clothes shop!!

On a completely different topic, how long/how much weight did it take to drop a dress size?
I'm 3lb off a 2 stone loss and only this week have my clothes felt too big?!

I suppose I carried weight well, being nearly 16 stone and a size 14-16! I am now a size 14 in everything, with some tops and jeans being too big, but a size 12 too small, so i'm more of a size 13
Although I am now thinking will it take another 2 stone until I can fit in a size 12?
