Thread: 1lb off...am I happy?

    Start Weight: 22st7lb
    Current Weight: 18st13.5lb
    Goal Weight: 10st0lb
    Goal Date: Slow and steady


    BMI Information:
    Start BMI: 55.8
    Current BMI: 47
    Goal BMI: 24.8


    Statistics:
    Total Weight Loss: 3st7.5lb
    Weight to Lose: 8st13.5lb

    1lb off...am I happy?

    I'm on week 2 of my SW online and after losing 5lb in my first week and feeling psyched for the next week I'm now feeling a little miffed about only losing 1lb this week. I know a loss is a loss and I am happy that 1lb has gone but I had set out to achieve my half stone award this week and thought I could do it no problem as it was just 2lbs. I have stuck to my plan and I haven't even used half my syns allowance for the week so I am just confused. If I'm sticking to the plan with no cheating how come I couldn't get to my half stone award? I know a pound is great and better than nothing lost or worse a gain but I did the plan and I'm feeling a little defeated here and instead of thinking 'that's it next week half stone award' I'm thinking 'if I'm sticking to it and that's all I lost why bother? Surely there's another option'. If I only had a stone to lose a pound a week would be fine but when you have 12st 7lbs to lose it seems like target is a long way off at only one pound a week. Not a happy slimmer this week.

    I feel your pain, I was super strict my first week and only lost 3lbs and I know what your saying that we should still be happy with a loss, first time I done sw I lost 7lbs in my first week and now I feel like I'm dreading weigh in on Wednesday, I would say wait and see how u get on at next weigh in and if the same happens again speak to your consultant. Xxx

    I feel the same, first week I lost 2lb then this week (wk 2) I've lost 1lb!! I've been really good n stuck to the diet religiously I hate getting on the scales

    % Lost 7.63%
    I usually find that if I have a big loss one week this will be followed by a smaller loss the next week. The good thing is when averaged out over the weeks it usually comes out between 1-2lb a week which is what SW recommend. Here's my weigh ins for example:

    Week 1: -3.5lb
    Week 2: -2.0lb
    Week 3: -0.5lb
    Week 4: -3.0lb
    Week 5: -1.0lb
    Week 6: +1.0lb
    Week 7: -3.5lb

    so 12.5lb in total over 7 weeks working out at 1.75lb a week roughly.

    So don't be disheartened if you have a smaller loss just remember it's all heading in the right direction and it soon adds up!
