Extra Easy How to survive a day out in London?

twinkleboi

Happy Gay YouTube Star!
I'm going to London on Saturday for a day and usually when I go to London, I end up schnarfing on foods from different places - breakfast at the station, mid morning food in Camden from the Chinese food stores, late lunch, cream tea and then a meal before the train home...

I would like to eat out whilst I'm there but I am also 100% determined to stay on EE plan regardless, any tips for sticking to plan when eating out? Places worth checking out?

How does one survive!? Lol:confused:

Double post! Ah, technology..... Innit marvellous!

If its not practical to bring your own food, I would go for damage limitation. Unless you have access to 1/3 superfree it might be difficult to stay 100%. I do green days and have limited damage by having jacket potato and beans without butter, noodles and mixed veg from Chinese stalls or veg pasta in restaurants.

Definitely make the most of any noodle stands :) If you're in the chinatown area, have some noodles- granted they won't be synfree, but if you just allow syns like you would in a normal chinese you're only looking at a few! *tummyrumbling* :p
Or, go to a bigger chain restaurant, and have something like a grilled steak, with jacket potato, and side salad.
Or go to pizza hut or somewhere similar and look at their pasta options- Pizza Hut do chilli twists pasta, which has been worked out at about 6 syns.

With all these options you'd have a few syns left for a cream tea ;)

hi

lots of the bars now do salads and healthy choices - look for All Bar One or Weatherspoons - lots around the city and west end.

I almost always take my own food anywhere these days in lock n lock tupperware basically anything made night before (stew etc) with camping spoon, can always buy salad. So if we go to a restaurant I tell them "I am on a special diet" and ask them to heat it up (its just like baby food isn't it!) and have never had anyone refuse, and if just doing picnic can eat cold with bag of salad or fruit bought from somewhere. Cheap as well :)

I survive in London 3 days a week quite happily :)

Any kind of supermarket will do big fruit salad for brekkie, bring along a hifi bar or a couple of alpen lights. My Fav brekkie when in London is a fruit salad, vanilla count on us yog from M&S, and a hifi bar.

Lunch: Jacket Potato stalls everywhere, loads of places to buy a salad. As said above, you can eat in Chinatown for relatively low syns. Or, if all else fails, M&S do some lovely salads and there is one on every friggin corner here!

Dinner: Zizzis - Chicken Rigatoni Pasta - 6 syns. Strada - Tuna Salad - 1 syn for the Olives (no dressing). Weatherspoons - 5 bean chilli with rice & tortillas - 6 syns). Nandos - take the skin of the chicken and have with salad & rice to reduce the syn count. IF nothign else any pub you go in with serve either steak or gammon and if you have with Jacket Potato it will be low syn.

London is one of the easiest places to stay on plan if you have willpower as there is so much choice. You do need the willpower though is its also the easiest place to go OFF Plan becuase there is SO MUCH Bl00dy choice!!

Oo - dunno hun. I'm south of the river at london bridge & there are about 3 places within a 2 min walk from me!

Piccadilly Circus is a bit of a nightmare for healthy food tbh! I used to work off Tottenham court road & that was the same. Fast food galore.

At leicester square (short walk from piccadilly) past the Empire is some wee bagel shops the one on the corner Cafe Fiori does jacket potatoes, I lived on them at Frightfest. Yummy HUGE and they charge extra for butter so you KNOW you wont get any! LOL. They will also put some salad in the take away container if you ask!

Pretty sure you'd find a Wethersoons - steak, jacket salad - completely syn free, hey if you're really hungry - have 2

Or,of course, if you're feeling really rebellious LOL you could flexi syn for a day or 2 ......I've seen you hanging around other posts...(lurker :) lol) and you can really limit any damage - be 'careful' you know the rules. Walk a bit - or a lot., and expect to STS

Have a funfilled weekend, enjoy

Thanks Shrimpy I only moved office there two weeks ago and haven't explored the area food wise, so definitely very handy to know. @kingsled yeah it's a nightmare & my office doesn't have microwaves as they've said we could purchase food from outside, so I've been living on home made salads & soups in flasks.

This place sounds so nice i might even venture north of the river to try it out!

Can you tell I spent 5 days eating in leicester square!?

Also Noodle Stop sometimes do just plain boiled rice & chicken in black bean sauce so theat's also relatively low syn. :)
