Another 5:2 Newbie!

Hello, I've just started this diet, I'm 13st 9. I've heard great things about this diet !
I've constantly gone from diet to diet but the last few weeks I've tried calorie counting again failed. I did my first fast yesterday and found it great, this morning I woke to feel I had more energy and weirdly feel skinnier!
I bought the book late last night and have read a bit but what concerns me is that on feast days it says to have up to 2000 calories, I usually average on 1300, is this ok??
And I had 3 small meals on fast day, is this ok??
Hoping this diet works, got 4 weeks to my hols and really want some pounds off !
