Back again, heavier than ever!

Hard day yesterday with a meal out - tried to make sensible choices, but I seem to have knocked myself out of ketosis.....the test sticks are now only detecting a trace of ketones. Bit disappointed but trying not to dwell on it. I eat out quite a lot as part of my job. It’s hard to avoid so I’m just going to have to make better choices than yesterday I guess. Hopefully yesterday’s gym session will have helped a bit.

Today has been better - been on plan 100%. Haven’t managed all my steps today though.

Tomorrow I should be able to be on plan the whole time, but Thursday is going to be a bit dicey again with another lunch out. Hoping to get gym sessions in tomorrow and Thursday to help.

Feeling so wiped out today - in bed early. Hope it’s the side effect of the diet rather than early sign that I’m coming down with something.....

I hope you are not going down with something Kate, I actually felt a bit light headed yesterday, I have not felt that before so hopefully that means my body was running on my fat as I certainly have enough of that to power a small island I would think!
I have been 100 % as per normal and hope the scales show that fact on Saturday! I certainly do feel lighter and clothes are feeling looser. Just waiting to see someone and them to utter the immortal words 'have you lost weight?' Hasn't happened yet! I have also ordered another 100 products as I was getting a bit low on products and I fancied a bit more variety.
Exercise is a difficult one for me, I have a congenital back issue that causes extreme pain and sciatica when I walk or stand so I am hoping that the more weight I lose the better things will become...fingers crossed!
Have the best day Kate, chat soon. xxx

Thanks Jacci :) Thankfully the tiredness didn't amount to anything and I'm totally fine. I too have enough fat to power a small island - well at least we're here doing something about it eh?!

That's great news that your clothes are looser, and I'm sure people will notice soon. It's still early days for me and I wear clothes with elasticed waists so much that I'm not sure I would notice a difference for a while!

Your back issue sounds really hard - I had sciatica in pregnancy and it made me thoroughly miserable. Do you have injections for it, or just manage it at home? Fingers crossed the weight loss helps too.

Wednesday and Thursday were good for me, despite lunch out yesterday - I just had a green salad and noone really batted an eyelid. Today is going well too and we finally have a reasonably free weekend so social plans shouldn't get in the way! Steps have been over 10,000 both days too and I'm popping off to the gym soon too.

I had a sneaky hop on the scales this morning and they're moving in the right direction :)

Onwards and downwards....

So glad to hear your scales are going in the right direction, my weigh in is tomorrow and I am a bit apprehensive but fingers crossed! I have been 100% so dear God there should be a loss!!

All my clothes have elasticated waists really, leggings, jeggings that sort of thing , I am hoping I will be able to wear less baggy tops soon!

The back thing is almost literally a pain in the bum! It started when I was 14 and the only 'cure' is an operation but there is a 25% mortality rate would you believe so I would have to be in a wheelchair before I would consider that. I went through a phase of using a walking stick, a pink glittery one! That did help but I have now got osteoarthritis in my shoulder so cannot use it! I can walk for about 10/15 mins before I need to sit down so if I walk in an area with lots of benches it is not too bad, could certainly do without it. I live on painkillers and anti inflammatories and nerve pain killers!! One of my main reasons for being so determined to lose this weight is I want to be a healthy weight when I have my shoulder op. I can have it done privately thank goodness so as soon as I just about get there I will book it!!

Well done you on the lunch out and kudos to you for all that exercise, I would love to be able to do that! My husband has told me I have a surprise this weekend and to pack an overnight bag for tomorrow night, that will be interesting! I hope you have a lovely relaxing weekend, I am going to have my nails done tonight after work as a treat for being a good Jacci this week! We all deserve a treat from time to time, especially doing something like Exante! Take care Kate, chat soon. xxx

Blimey - a 25% mortality rate is a bit scary isn’t it? I don’t blame you for wanting to wait to have that done. When are you hoping to schedule your shoulder operation?

How exciting about your surprise night away. Where did you go?

I totally agree about a good dose of self care while we’re doing this. You’ve inspired me and I’ve booked to have my nails done on Wednesday 👍🏻

1.4kg off this week which I’m pleased with, all things considered! You’ve had a great loss this week too Jacci - brilliant news xx

Day 31!!! Well done Kate on your weigh in! I am very happy with my loss and I am really starting to feel lighter, all my clothes are looser and my tummy feels smaller!
The shoulder op is a bit tricky as I have quite a few holidays lined up and apparently it is quite a long recuperation period. If I can cope and it does not get much worse the end of Sept/early Oct would be a good time for me and as I have private health care through my work I could arrange it for then. If it gets really bad I could do the end of June but I am hoping I can hang on till Sept time as I really would like to be at a fairly 'normal' weight when I have it done. Time will tell.
We went to Southampton to see The Jersey Boys! I have always wanted to see it and it was bloody fantastic! I would see it again in a heartbeat! I was good as well, as we did not go out for a meal Hubby bought himself some sandwiches and bits and ate them in the hotel room!
Glad you are having your nails done, it is the least we can do for ourselves when we are being so restrictive in what we are eating and drinking. I do find Exante boring as hell tbh but it is what it is and I cannot seem to lose a huge chunk doing this so any other diet would take me years to get down!
Good luck with your week Kate, I hope it is a good one for both of us! Take care xx

Well I'm nearing the end of week 3 and it's been a fairly good one. Thankfully no eating out or any other social events which I've needed to work around. I've been fairly consistent with my three packs a day - shake, bar, shake...repeat! Interestingly, noone at work has mentioned my lack of "proper" lunch yet, although I've been at pains to keep the Exante branding on the bars turned away from prying eyes. It's not that I'm ashamed about what I'm doing, more that I don't want any unsolicited advice from anyone!

I've managed to hit my 10k steps each day and have had 2 gym sessions so far - hoping to get a third one in at some point over the weekend. Hoping off the tube a couple of stops early seems to be helping the step count which is good.

I've been sleeping so much better too - I'm not sure whether it's the increased activity that I've been doing, or lack of alcohol maybe?! Who knows!

Anyway, onwards and downwards :)

Ah fantastic Jacci - bet Jersey Boys was fabuous....Ive heard really good things about that show. Well done on being so good too - I'm not sure I'd have shown so much willpower!! :classic_roll_eyes:

HI Kate! I need to be good as I have had enough of this weight and I just want to get to a healthy weight now! Obviously when I go to Chicago on 10/5 for the week things will change but I will do loads of walking when I am there and will go straight back to Exante upon my return! This is so going to be my year!!

Hope all going well with you Hun. xxx

So just a kilo off this week. Not quite sure how I feel about that. I’ve been really consistent this week and on the one hand a loss is a loss, but I think I was hoping for more.

I was really hoping to be under the 14 stone mark for Easter (so less than 89kg) but I’m not sure I’m going to make it at this rate.

I’m going to up my water like you Jacci and see if that helps. My only worry with that is I have a 1.5 hour commute each way from work on the train, and I hate hate hate using train loos (!) so I need to time my water glugging round that 🤔

Working from home today so I have no excuse not to get through the water. Off to the gym once the school run is done.

Hope everyone has good days xx

Don't be upset about your kilo Kate, week three I lost half a pound even though I had stuck to it 100%! I was a bit gutted with that I must admit! I am giving myself a goal this week of 3lbs as that will mean I am on track to lose a stone in 4 weeks. Had the worst day yesterday, my will power really had to work overtime but it did thank goodness!

That is definitely the problem with the water, I am going to the loo all the time including getting up at least twice at night! It does, however, make me feel sooo much better, even happier!!!

Have had a rotten migraine today, got up and had my shower but realised then that there was no way I was going to be able to go to work so went back to my bed! It is not so bad but is definitely lurking in the background, hopefully it will stay there!

I am going to see an old friend tomoz and she always lays on some nibbles but I will just not have any, I am going with another friend so she can eat them!! I hope you are having a lovely Monday, take care! xxx

Ahh thanks for the pep talk Jacci, and that’s really interesting about your week 3 weight loss too. Perhaps there’s hope for me yet!

How’s your migraine now? Hopefully starting to disappear?

Oooh good luck with your socialising tomorrow - it’s hard isn’t it? I wish I could hibernate until I’ve lost all my weight. It would be so much easier!

Good day today:
B - almond and vanilla shake
L - jam and yoghurt bar
D - chocolate orange shake
Steps - 11,034
Water - 2,750ml

I didn’t make it to the gym, but I went for a long walk round the village in the sun which was lovely.

Xx

Another good day yesterday:

B - lemon cheesecake shake
L - hot cross bun bar
D - berries and cherries shake
Steps - 15,003
Water - 2,500ml

Hoping for another positive day today xx

A good day today:

B - chocolate mint shake
L - lemon bar
D - strawberry shake
Steps - 12,188
Water - 2,250ml

Really struggled with hunger levels today though which is a bit strange as I haven’t felt like that on the diet so far. I’ve taken myself off to bed early to try and get as far away from the kitchen (and temptation) as possible!

I have been more hungry for about the last week I think Kate, I keep trying to kid myself by saying my body is obviously burning lots of fat but it in not pleasant! You are doing a lot of steps though so you must be burning off a lot of your 600 calories. I did 8000 odd when we were in Southampton and that is a huge amount for me. Take care. xxx

Pleased with a 1.3kg weight loss this week - of course I’d like it to be more but a loss is a loss. I was 100% on plan this week so hoping for a good loss next week too....there always seems to be a slight “lag” with my weight losses.

Anyway, onwards and downwards and only 2.5kg to go until I’m out of the 14 stones. 🤞🏻💪🏻. Working from home today so heading to the gym shortly although I really feel like just crawling back to bed!
