Thought this was a little strange too. I can understand not being able to see other peoples profiles but what's the logic behind this?
It's a good idea to get people active on the forums though.

I probably should read the red writing. I didn't know you have to have so many posts to earn an avatar.
I guess it puts the trolls and spammers off.
